There are few times better to buy new games than during a large sale, when it's possible to pick up several games for the price of one. These days, it's pretty common for at least one game platform to be running a sale at any given time, with discounts peppered at other times. Right now, PlayStation is up to bat, as the company is once again running its "Big in Japan" sale.

The Big in Japan sale offers discounts of up to 75% on some of Japan's biggest games, with hit titles like Judgment, Bloodborne, Scarlet Nexus, and many more receiving healthy chunks off of their price tags. There are even some relatively recent releases featured for those that missed out on them initially, like NEO: The World Ends with You being offered for $29.99 - a 50% discount on its typical price.

Not only are the discounts steep, but there's a decent spread of genres on offer, too. Fans can, of course, expect to find JRPGs like Persona 5 for sale, but there are also horror games, fighting games, strategy games, and more to peruse. There's something mixed in for just about everyone, including games developed in Japan that have Western flair. For instance, The Evil Within 2 has also been discounted on the sale.

The Big in Japan sale is live now on PS4 and PS5 and is slated to continue until March 9. That gives gamers more than a week to pick up some big new games, though there are also plenty of new releases dropping, so it really depends on what fans feel like buying. Both Horizon Forbidden West and Elden Ring debut this month, which offer up some massive open worlds. While only Elden Ring has Japanese flair, those that are willing to shell out the extra money for a new triple-a game may want to go that route.

There are plenty of other games slated for the next few months, too, including major titles for those that are fans of Japanese games. Ghostwire Tokyo, an action-horror game, is slated to release next month alongside games like Triangle Strategy, which offers a 2.5D JRPG flair, similar to Octopath Traveler. That's all to say that gamers have no shortage of options when it comes to finding new games to play, and it'll probably be a while before they've exhausted each one. That's a positive considering the relative drought that hit last year.
