Sony typically announces its PlayStation Plus lineup on the last Wednesday of every month, meaning players will know what's coming in February in just a few days' time. There also seems to be a pattern where there's one big game and one game that's more of a gag than anything, such as January 2020's PlayStation Plus games: Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection and Goat Simulator. Before that, in December 2019, it was Titanfall 2 and Monster Energy Supercross: The Official Videogame.

And while the PlayStation Plus games for February 2020 are certainly exciting, February 2020 itself could be a big month for fans. Rumors point toward a PS5 reveal event that could also announce new games from the God of War developers, the Spider-Man developers, and more. Using the February 2020 lineup to further build hype for that, by choosing games from those studios, would be a great way to build even more hype for the month.

Compiling a PlayStation Plus wish list for February 2020 is often hard, though, because players do need to temper their expectations. After all, most of the games released on the service are a few years old, but they do give players the chance to check out something they've been meaning to forever and just haven't. There's no telling what February 2020 will bring, but there are a few games, however out there, that if they were included, PS4 fans would go crazy over.

Horizon Zero Dawn

horizon zero dawn

Considering Horizon: Zero Dawn released in February 2017 and talks of a sequel being developed exist, it would be a good time - 3 years after its initial release - to add it to the service. The game has been highly praised and so those who haven't been able to check it would be in for a real treat. In our review of Horizon: Zero Dawn, we praised its stunning detail, challenging enemies, and inventive story, so even if it doesn't grace PlayStation Plus anytime soon, it's definitely worth picking up.

Shadow of the Colossus

9 SHADOW OF THE COLOSSUS

There's a lot of talk concerning Bluepoint Games' next remake and whether it would be Demon's Souls Remastered or a remake of Legend of Dragoon, but this hype is because of the studio's stellar reputation. Case in point: its remake of Shadow of the Colossus took a classic and expanded upon it for the PS4. receiving high scores across the board. If this were to be a PlayStation Plus game for February 2019, like its PS3 predecessor was back in 2013, there's little doubt that it would be a well-received addition.

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt

the witcher netflix series release date leaked

Of games on this list that are likeliest to appear, despite how minuscule that still is, it's Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. It released back in 2015, still has a huge following, and that following has even been boosted by the Netflix series, meaning it really checks all the boxes for inclusion. Several have reportedly returned to the game following the Netflix debut, but for those who want to but haven't had the time or cash to pick it up, it would be a great PlayStation Plus game.

Marvel's Spider-Man

Without a doubt, Spider-Man was a blockbuster hit and a console seller, having been bundled with a PS4 for Black Friday when it released at the tail end of 2018. Many have likely already played it, but sometimes, things happen and games are lost. With rumors pointing toward a new Spider-Man game getting announced soon, there's a good chance that many will want to return and play it again in anticipation, so having it as a free PlayStation Plus game would simply help cement these rumors and build hype for its sequel. It's worth mentioning, though, that of the games on this list, this does seem the least likely.

Monster Hunter World

Monster Hunter World is another excellent game that can be played on PS4, and with the release of the Iceborne DLC back in September, it would be a good time to bring friends into the co-op fold. Releasing this game on PlayStation Plus would likely bring friends together in such a manner, so it's really a good deal for anyone, even those who own it and active players, as there may be friends they want to play with but simply haven't.

These games are admittedly a pipe dream, but if even one were to come true alongside a PS5 reveal event in February, there's little doubt that these games would take something fantastic and just make it a little better.
