Nintendo's mascot is a humble plumber from the Mushroom Kingdom. When he's not saving Princess Peach from Bowser, Mario appears in games like Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. Displaying his fighting prowess and heroism in multiple games, he is continually growing. We may never see Mario reach his true potential.

PlayStation's heroes and heroines are among the most powerful in video games. Naturally, their designs draw inspiration from Nintendo, one of the industry's oldest companies. With so many characters being introduced, many close-run battles fought, which of the famed heroes are the most powerful? "Here we go!"

10 Crash Bandicoot (Can't Defeat Mario)

One of PlayStation's most recognizable heroes goes head-to-head with Mario in an epic battle. It was a long and hard-fought, but ultimately, Mario came out on top. The fight came with hardships from both sides, but Mario was declared the victor.

Mario's fireballs and agility would be too much for Crash Bandicoot. While Crash's Death Tornado and Fruit Bazooka would give Mario trouble, power-ups like the Wing Cap, Metal Cap, and Cap of Invisibility would give Mario a competitive edge.

9 Solid Snake (Can Defeat Mario)

The story gets convoluted when multiple Snakes come into Metal Gear, but that doesn't change that Solid Snake would defeat Mario. He also goes by names like Old Snake, Snake, Legendary Mercenary, and the Man Who Makes the Impossible Possible.

As someone with an IQ of 180, this mercenary is equipped and trained for battle. Had it been a platforming competition, Mario would win. However, in an all-out death battle, this military black ops member would come out on top.

8 Ellie (Can't Defeat Mario)

Ellie

She's more capable than the average person, but Ellie's limitations make her less powerful than Mario. We see Ellie show great displays of strength and wisdom, but Mario's fictional powers would be too much. After all, Mario can hurl fireballs and fly.

Ellie would have an arsenal of upgraded weapons, including a bow, pump shotgun, and bolt-action rifle, yet Mario would deflect bullets in his Metal Mario state. Mario might be a humble Italian plumber, but he proves that he can defeat the mightiest foes time and time again.

7 Cloud Strife (Can Defeat Mario)

Cloud sword

He is recognized as a SOLDIER, but to everyone who knows him, he is Cloud Strife. This character from Final Fantasy VII has become an icon for his quick-wits and powerful fighting techniques.

Mario and Cloud Strife face off all the time in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. While Mario can hurl fireballs, Cloud Strife's Buster Sword is a deadly weapon. In Punisher Mode, he moves more slowly, but his attacks inflict tremendous damage. His ranged Blade Burst attack would overwhelm Mario, leading to Cloud emerging as victorious.

6 Nathan Drake (Can't Defeat Mario)

Uncharted 3

Nathan Drake is your ordinary scoundrel and thief. He doesn't possess superpowers or advanced weaponry of any kind. Throughout the Uncharted video game series, Nathan shows acts of heroism and fighting prowess. He does not, however, show that he can defeat Mario in a battle. Mario's F.L.U.D.D. might not be as effective, but surely his fireballs would scorch Nathan Drake.

5 Cole McGrath (Can Defeat Mario)

Cole McGrath would be able to defeat Nintendo's Mario in a heartbeat. His powers stretch the limits of electrokinesis as he can manipulate electricity in various ways. Using electricity powers, Cole McGrath doesn't harm himself. This character has been perceived as both the hero and the villain in the Infamous series. He has psychic powers, the ability to perceive time slowly, and he can fly. Cole McGrath comes out on top in this battle.

4 Spyro (Can't Defeat Mario)

Spyro the Dragon might be a creature from legends, but he would not defeat Nintendo's Mario. Bowser isn't a dragon, but Mario has proven dragon-slaying prowess in the past. Dragons are fire-breathing creatures that are sometimes perceived as invincible. Mario put the legend to the test in Super Mario Odyssey, bringing down the Lord of Lightning in the Ruined Kingdom. What's more terrifying than a fire-breathing dragon? One that spits out lightning and can send shockwaves into the ground.

3 Ratchet And Clank (Can Defeat Mario)

Rift Apart

Technically speaking, this is a duo and not one PlayStation hero. Ratchet and Clank are almost inseparable, so there's no harm in mashing them together for one death battle. Would Mario be able to defeat what could be PlayStation's most iconic duo? Ratchet and Clank are intelligent, and they have an abundance of gadgets at their disposal. Ratchet survived a hypernova, as well as a shot of a deadly nerve toxin. For being a character with tremendous durability, Ratchet wins this matchup.

2 Lara Croft (Can't Defeat Mario)

Lara Croft firing a bow

Mario might play the part of a lowly Italian plumber, yet it's proven he is more than human in his personal life. Lara Croft from the Tomb Raider series is only a human, and she is as powerful as the weapons she is given. If Mario were to use all of his powers, including invulnerability or Koopa Shell (an item that defeats foes in one hit), he would make quick work of Lara Croft.

1 Kratos (Can Defeat Mario)

As someone who is perceived to be invincible, has god-like strength, combat skills, and is aided by godly figures, Kratos would annihilate Mario. Without meaning to be too coarse when referring to our favorite Nintendo mascot, a death battle would not go well for Jumpman. It's time to move on. To suggest that Mario would stand a chance against the God of War is absurd.
