An avid PlayStation gamer gets an incredible haul of original PlayStation and PlayStation 2 games from a local garage sale. For a reasonable bargain, the longtime PlayStation fan was able to purchase several games associated with the iconic brand, including Gran Turismo 3 A-Spec and Final Fantasy X for the PS2.

The original PlayStation console debuted on December 3, 1994, in Japan, and the console quickly became a worldwide success following its launch in 1995 for North America, Europe, and Australia. Sony's PS1 would go on to sell over 100 million units worldwide, and the PS2 would become an even greater success following its launch in 2000. Successful titles such as Metal Gear Solid, Tekken, and Gran Turismo would receive new sequels on the PS2, and fans of the original console could play their favorite titles via backwards compatibility. Although nearly 20 years have passed since the PS1 and PS2 were Sony's main focus, gamers still cherish these iconic consoles and their vast library of games. In 2023, PlayStation fans may even look forward to revisiting some of their favorite games in the form of re-releases and remasters like Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 1.

PlayStation fan ShadowRealmDweller89 recently purchased over 30 PS1 and PS2 games, multiple controllers, and three PlayStation memory cards at a local garage sale. The Reddit user shared an image of their incredible haul, which includes titles such as the original Metal Gear Solid game, Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty, Wild Arms, Gran Turismo 3 A-Spec, Final Fantasy X, and Dynasty Warriors 2. According to ShadowRealmDweller89, all the PlayStation games and peripherals shown in the image were purchased for just $80.

The haul includes "Greatest Hits" copies of PlayStation games and initial retail versions. Greatest Hits versions may contain additional bug fixes and adjustments when compared to the original retail copy, and the green label denotes the updated retail release. However, Greatest Hits versions are nearly identical to the original versions.

ShadowRealmDweller89's recent haul is a real bargain since prices for classic PlayStation video games appear to be rising in recent years. Some of these titles in this haul, including Metal Gear Solid and Final Fantasy VIII, may be found nearing the $80 price alone if the physical copy is sealed or in great condition.

Fortunately, PlayStation fans may enjoy several PS1, PS2, and PSP titles right now by purchasing a PlayStation Plus Premium subscription, which also includes game trials and cloud streaming capabilities. Sony is planning to introduce PS5 game cloud streaming to its PlayStation Plus service at a later date, and internal testing for the new PS Plus benefit is underway.
