Three months of PlayStation Plus Premium is up for grabs for those taking part in an online contest later this month. PlayStation Plus comes in three tiers that each give players access to online multiplayer and monthly free games. Subscribers also get exclusive discounts on the PlayStation store. PlayStation Plus Premium is the highest tier and also comes with access to a catalog of classic PlayStation titles as well as game trials for select titles.Just recently three free titles were announced for PlayStation Plus subscribers that will be available from June 6. These are available to subscribers of all PlayStation Plus tiers, regardless of whether they are gaming on PlayStation 4 or 5. A new batch of free games will be announced for July will likely be announced towards the end of June, but for now PlayStation Plus subscribers can add NBA 2K23, Jurassic World Evolution 2, and Trek to Yomi to their libraries. The Sackboy: A Big Adventure Knit Speedrun Challenge allows players to attempt a monthly trial course as many times as they like to earn cosmetic items depending on which of the five prize tiers they fall into. Those ranking in the top 500 globally between June 24 at 12:01am through June 25 at 11:59pm local time will be awarded with three months of PlayStation Plus Premium. The challenge is open to all players who own Sackboy: A Big Adventure; it's also important to note that the game is available as part of the game catalog for those who are subscribed to PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium at the time.

One of the biggest draws of PlayStation Plus Premium is the free game trials. Just recently it was announced that Premium subscribers have 45 minutes to try out Hogwarts Legacy; arguably one of the best games of 2023, even if it has been somewhat controversial. Some might feel that 45 minutes isn't enough to get a good feel for Hogwarts Legacy especially when other trial titles have offered up to three hours of gameplay.

PlayStation has ratcheted up the value offered with its subscription service over the years, especially for subscribers at the upper tiers. That said, PlayStation Plus is poised to break an established tradition if it doesn't offer up a Call of Duty title as part of its July lineup of free games, and this could be a source of disappointment potentially driven by the rift created by the ongoing Microsoft acquisition of Activision Blizzard.
