Sony has launched a sister-site to the PlayStation Blog called the SIE Blog. The site launched a few days ago with a post dedicated to a new PlayStation commercial called "The Edge," but it was only today that the blog created a post that introduced the site and explained what exactly readers could expect to learn from its uploads.

As most can imagine, the SIE Blog and the PlayStation Blog will post about two different topics. The PlayStation Blog covers everything related to the PlayStation. Readers will find posts providing the latest updates on the PlayStation console, its features, accessories, and games.

On the other hand, the SIE Blog focuses more on Sony Interactive Entertainment as a whole. Its posts will provide an inside look into the company behind the PlayStation rather than the PlayStation itself. However, as The Edge blog post proves, the SIE Blog may dabble with topics related to the PlayStation every now and again. It just depends on if the topics in question also heavily reflect the company in some way.

For instance, the blog's introduction post states that SIE will also interview PlayStation game developers. Unlike the PlayStation Blog, however, these interviews will focus more on the developers themselves rather than the games they're creating. The blog will also talk about what it's like to work at Sony Interactive Entertainment and about any new open job positions at the company.

The site should be a nice source of information for anyone that wants to learn more about Sony as a whole. The PlayStation Blog certainly keeps PlayStation fans up-to-date on their favorite gaming system, but the SIE Blog promises to give a bigger overview of Sony itself.

The site currently has four posts available to read right now. Outside of the introduction post and The Edge post, the other two discuss gaming tips for families planning to let their kids play online for the first time, and Sony's power-saving initiative, "Playing for the Planet." Overall, all the posts currently available on the site provide excellent examples of what readers can expect from it in the future.

The PlayStation 5 releases in less than two months on November 12, so it's hard to imagine that both the PlayStation Blog and SIE Blog won't be updating more frequently. It'll be interesting to see what the SIE Blog posts in the future regarding the development of the PlayStation 5 and the thought-process that went into its creation.
