Plague Inc: Evolved is a game in which players create and spread a pathogen around the globe in an attempt to destroy the world. The game was popular, but Plague Inc. became controversial amid the Coronavirus outbreak and it was banned in China. Developer Ndemic Creations has made strategic moves to give its game a better look during these strange times, and the most recent one should be a goodwill move many fans can appreciate.

When the spread of COVID-19 became clear, Ndemic Creations updated Plague Inc. to let players fight against pandemics, not just spread them. As the fight against the coronavirus rages on, the developer is now giving the next DLC for the game for free.

The Cure is the name of Plague Inc.'s biggest expansion ever, and it is available now. The DLC was made with the help of world health experts from all over the globe including the World Health Organization (WHO), the Coalition for Epidemic Preparedness Innovations (CEPI), and the Global Outbreak Alert and Response Network (GOARN). The expansion sounds like what global and regional leaders may be doing right now during the pandemic, as players must attempt to stop a deadly global plague by allocating resources, boosting testing capacity, making facemasks, locking down countries, investigating treatments, and more.

Ndemic Creations is allowing the DLC to be free to anyone who owns the base game, Plague Inc: Evolved, "Until COVID-19 is under control," according to its description on Steam. The developer has proven to be one that cares deeply about the current pandemic, as it also has donated over a quarter of a million dollars working to fight against COVID-19.

Plague Inc. is currently available on Mobile, PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
