A large part of the fun in Pikmin 4 is the ability to explore many different levels and areas to seek out new Treasure, find more Pikmin to join the crew, and rescue the many Castaways stranded around. While one might be tempted to fully explore a single area to completion before moving on, sometimes it is much more productive to progress to a new level and discover new things that can make things even easier.

This can be in the form of new Gear items, upgrades for Oatchi, and even more Pikmin variety and numbers. To help players plan out their approach more efficiently, like the way of the Dandori, this guide will provide all the vital info when it comes to the total number of areas that are in Pikmin 4.

How Many Areas Are There in Pikmin 4?

The following list will show the different areas that can be explored in Pikmin 4, as well as the number of Treasures, Onions, and Rescues that can be found.

Sun-Speckled Terrace

The first major area of the game is the Sun-Speckled Terrace; players will spend their time here learning the ropes and getting into the groove of doing everything the game has to offer. In total, there are:

  • 7 Rescues
  • 34 Treasures
  • 4 Onions

Blossoming Arcadia

Once enough Treasure is collected in Sun-Speckled Terrace, players can choose to move on to Blossoming Arcadia. Some parts of the level will require more than just the Red, Ice, and Yellow Pikmin to get past, which is where the Rock and Blue Pikmin come into the picture. Look forward to gathering:

  • 9 Rescues
  • 60 Treasures
  • 3 Onions

Serene Shores

An area teeming with water that can be dangerous to all except the Ice and Blue Pikmin, be sure to tread more carefully. At noon, the tide will recede somewhat, allowing for more exploration and making it safe to use many of the other Pikmin. This level also introduces the Pink Pikmin into the mix. Be sure to grab the following:

  • 10 Rescues
  • 86 Treasures
  • 3 Onions

Hero's Hideaway

An interior space where Captain Olimar is supposedly residing, there is plenty of elevation in this area that requires the use of fans to get around. This will be the toughest test yet in Pikmin 4 when it comes to both combat and using the creatures to solve puzzles. Take note of the following:

  • 6 Rescues
  • 86 Treasures
  • 3 Onions

Giant's Hearth

Now that players are done with the main story, this area offers new challenges and more to see, including the new mechanic of using burning pinecones. Watch out for the flames on the road to gathering the following:

  • 8 Rescues
  • 55 Treasures
  • 3 Onions

Primordial Thicket

The final area certainly lives up to the billing, as this dense area is full of danger in the form of beasts and environmental hazards. Make full use of the White Pikmin to avoid the clutches of poison while making sure to get the following:

  • 8 Rescues
  • 89 Treasures
  • 3 Onions

All stages except for the first one will have to be unlocked using Sparklium, which is rewarded when turning in Treasures at the base. There are over 200 pieces of Treasure to be found, so there will likely be no issue in unlocking new areas. As a rule of thumb, taking the time and gathering everything in sight is the easiest way to progress in Pikmin 4.

Pikmin 4 is available for the Nintendo Switch.
