Since being launched last year, the multiplayer ghost hunting game Phasmophobia has been something of a horror phenomenon, particularly among the streaming community. What's impressive about the game is that it's managed to reach such heights of popularity based on the efforts of a single developer. While Kinetic Games has been a one-man operation, the studio has recently put out a call to hire more people so it can keep adding new elements to the game, particularly when it comes to the spooks.

After a recent Q&A session on Discord, the Phasmophobia developer uploaded a screenshot from the session, which outlines some answers to questions fans had about the game and its future. In the screenshot, which was posted to the studio's Twitter profile last weekend, a number of points were addressed in which Kinetic Games spoke about plans it had for the game going forward.

One of the questions asked pertained to whether the studio would be adding more "personality" to the game, to which Kinetic said that one of the plans it had for Phasmophobia was to make each ghost scarier. It also plans to add new ghosts to Phasmophobia, although there's no word as to what type of ghosts these will be, or even how the studio will go about making them "scarier" than they currently are. There are also plans to introduce "themed horror" aspects, but again, no details have been given at this stage.

Naturally, it would make sense for Kinetic Games to focus on the ghosts, given that they make up the bread and butter of how the game plays. This is also not the first time the developer has added new ghosts to Phasmophobia, so it's evidently something it wishes to continue adding for future updates. The ghosts of the game are part and parcel of the experience, so more ghosts that are even scarier will only add to the terrifying experience.

Among other things, Kinetic is looking to keep improving on the game so it can finally come out of early access. One of the things planned is an overhaul of the gameplay mechanics by balancing the difficulty modes to make the game harder, but still fun. All-in-all it seems as though Kinetic Games is committed to creating a more immersive Phasmophobia experience so that it can continue to frighten ghost-hunting fans in what has become one of the biggest horror games in recent years.

Phasmophobia is currently playable on PC with plans to port the game to consoles at some point in the future.
