2K has released a new trailer for its golf game franchise PGA Tour 2K23 with a star-studded talent pool. The release date trailer features Hollywood star Chris McDonald, known for his role of Shooter McGavin in Happy Gilmore, as well as the face of this year's PGA Tour 2K23, Tiger Woods, sitting on a Game of Thrones-inspired throne.

The trailer reveals not only that Tiger Woods replaces Justin Thomas as the cover athlete and that PGA Tour 2K23 is officially launching in October, but also that pre-orders are starting immediately. The regular version of PGA Tour 2K23 hits the stores on October 14, while the two special editions, Deluxe Edition and Tiger Woods Edition, are available from October 11 onwards. All versions of the game come with dual support for both generations of gaming consoles, whether the choice is PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 or Xbox One and Xbox Series X.

The Deluxe Edition features three different add-on packs for a price of $99.99. Deluxe Bonus Pack includes 1300 virtual currency, which PGA Tour 2K23 players can bet with, a hockey stick putter, a gold baseball cap, a gold golf glove, and 3 rare golf ball sleeves. Michael Jordan Bonus Pack adds the legendary basketball player as a playable character and 4 common golf ball sleeves, and Golden Club Pack furthermore one golden driver, one golden putter, and four uncommon golf ball sleeves.

The real fruit of 2K's deal with Tiger Woods is the Tiger Woods Edition, which includes all the goodies from Deluxe Edition and adds Tiger Woods-themed customizations in two separate packs. The $119.99 special edition adds a Tiger Woods TaylorMade club set, a Tiger Woods t-shirt, three epic golf ball sleeves, one red polo shirt, a pair of black pants, a black hat, Tiger Woods golf shoes and belt, and Tiger Bridgestone branded golf balls. The Standard Edition, costing $69.99, features the Golden Club Pack, and all pre-orders will include Michael Jordan Bonus Pack.

This is the first time Tiger Woods has been on the cover of a PGA game since Rory McIlroy replaced him in EA's PGA Tour 2015. Now Tiger Woods joins a list of pro-golfer in PGA Tour 2K23, including both PGA and LPGA stars, such as Lexi Thompson, Lydia Ko, Brooke Henderson, Tony Finau, Collin Morikawa, and Will Zalatoris. 2K has also licensed some of the most popular golf courses for the game.

PGA Tour 2K23 is scheduled to release on October 14 for PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
