One of the Shin Megami Tensei universe's most prominent and well-known characters, Jack Frost, is getting a Bright Arts figure made by Square Enix. The Shin Megami Tensei and Persona game series are properties of Atlus, but it's not the first instance of Square Enix creating figures based off of games or franchises that it's not a part of.

Jack Frost is one of the most well-recognized characters of Shin Megami Tensei and Persona. Jack Frost made their first appearance in the second Shin Megami Tensei, and while it has undergone some design changes over the years, it's appeared in nearly every main game, spin-off title, and anime adaptations since then. It makes the cute demon a good choice for a first Atlus figure in this line.

Square Enix has officially announced that Jack Frost is being turned into a Bright Arts figure made out of die-cast zinc alloy, a unique take since most collectible figures are made out of materials like plastic or polystone. Frost looks cute and friendly, and is shown waving at the viewer, much as it appears in recent Persona and Shin Megami Tensei games. The Bright Arts figure is quite small, standing at about two and a half inches, and is currently being sold for 3960 yen, or $27.18 USD at the time of writing.

The Bright Arts Jack Frost is set to ship in January, and Square Enix is accepting orders now through its online shop. However, fans located in the west need to wait unless they're willing to have the product imported, as its release in the west hasn't been confirmed yet. However, considering the extreme popularity of the Persona 5 games, of which Jack Frost appears in early on, it's highly likely that the release will expand to the rest of the world in time.

Many players of the Shin Megami Tensei franchise have been charmed by Jack Frost, both due to its appearance and its tendency to utter "hee ho" during almost every sentence it speaks. In Persona 5, the ice-based demon can prove to be a valuable asset for Joker, and paves the way to unlock more advanced forms of the Frost family, like Black Frost, which can only be utilized by using a Jack Frost in the game's Persona fusion system. While many players end up focusing on advanced and remarkable Personas by the end of the game, Jack Frost remains a fan favorite, and gamers can keep this small trinket of him no matter what Personas they bring into battle in-game.
