Atlus has been celebrating the 25th anniversary of Persona with a string of announcements going back to September 2021. To help build up excitement for these announcements, Atlus built the Persona 25th Anniversary Project website with graphics for each upcoming reveal. As of April, there were nine total teasers on the website, with four having previously been revealed. A new update to the website appears to have removed two of these graphics, shrinking the total number of Persona announcements left to be made. The Japanese website for the Persona 25th Anniversary Project has an image carousel for its upcoming Persona announcements. In late April, this website was updated to show nine total announcements to be made. Four had already been made, followed by five mystery announcements. The first panel read "Next Information 2022/6," followed by 3 "Coming Soon" panels, and then ending with a final panel reading "2022/Autumn." The website has now removed two of the "Coming Soon" panels.RELATED: Persona 5 is Getting Its Own Slot MachineWhat fans believed the teaser website was indicating was that four announcements were planned to be made in June, followed by a final announcement to be made later this year. That would mean that there are now potentially two fewer Persona announcements to be made in June. Whether this is accurate to Atlus' plans or not is unclear, but the website alteration does indicate a change has been made.

There is a twist to the situation, however. When the Persona 25th Anniversary Project website was originally released, it only had seven announcements listed. It stayed that way through April, when the additional two Persona announcements were surprisingly added. The updated announcement list has remained through May and has now been changed in early June. That could mean that the change was only made in error and it just took this long to get fixed.

Announcements made so far have been somewhat small. For example, Atlus announced a new line of Persona-related merchandise, shared Persona 5's soundtrack on Spotify, and released a special deluxe edition of Persona soundtrack CDs. Even when there were several announcements expected, expectations weren't high that they'd be major Persona game announcements.

With that said, this is the time of year when major game announcements are made. Whether it's one or three Persona announcements planned, fans of Atlus' RPG franchise should be excited to see what's in store. It's unclear where the next Persona announcement will be made, but with the Summer Game Fest about to begin there will be ample opportunities for some exciting reveals.
