The notable Atlus insider Midori shares her thoughts on the likelihood of Persona 6 being announced at one of the multiple gaming showcases set to take place in 2024. Ever since the release of Persona 5 in 2017, fans of Sega's popular JRPG franchise have patiently been waiting for an official reveal of the sixth mainline installment in the series. Fortunately, judging by what Midori has to say on the matter, it seems like the wait for an official update on Persona 6 could finally be over later this year.

Despite the fact that it's been nearly 8 years since the release of the original Persona 5 in Japan, the amount of information Atlus has formally divulged on Persona 6 has been next-to-zero. Atlus has satiated the appetites of Persona fans with a consistent release cadence of new ports, spin-offs, and remakes since P5's debut in 2016. In fact, the company is even reportedly looking into making Persona an annualized franchise in the future. As exciting as that may be, many fans are still left wondering when Persona 6 will be announced, let alone released. One Sega insider, at the very least, does have some opinions to share on this particular topic.

Sega Insider Teases Two Exciting Projects for Atlus Fans

A credible Sega insider hints at two exciting projects that might be in development at Atlus and could release in the near future.

In a recent thread on Twitter, the reputable leaker Midori responded to a fan speculating on if Persona 6 could potentially be revealed in June. In her reply, she claimed that "the plans for P6 have changed a lot over the previous two years," to the point where "anything is possible." As such, Midori doesn't completely rule out the chance of Persona 6 being officially announced at the Summer Game Fest and Xbox showcases next month. However, she does state that it's more likely to see the game at the Nintendo Switch 2's reveal event or at The Game Awards in December.

The last time Atlus revealed a new Persona game, it was at one of Microsoft's Xbox June showcases. The company also unveiled the Episode Aigis expansion for Persona 3 Reload at an Xbox Partner Preview. Given this recent trend, it would seem like there's a good chance that Persona 6 gets revealed at the Xbox showcase in a couple of weeks. However, according to Midori, "Persona 6 [has] a different marketing plan from the previous Persona games." Because of that, it appears the unannounced JRPG will be revealed at a more unexpected time.

Fans Should Keep Their Eyes Peeled For New Persona Games Reveals In The Near Future

Many fans will likely want Persona 6 to be announced as soon as possible, but unfortunately, it seems like they may have to wait until the end of the year to get a trailer reveal of some sort. Then again, given the fact that even Midori isn't aware of Atlus's plans on the matter, it could still happen at any time. Nonetheless, Atlus has a tendency of surprising its fans, so gamers should keep their eyes peeled for new Persona game announcements, whether they're for Persona 6 or not.
