Persona Leaker Gives Update on Rumored Spin-Off Game

A well-known Persona leaker gives an update regarding a rumored spin-off title from Atlus that she first discussed last summer.

Previously, Midori claimed that Persona 5: The Phantom X was approved for a global release outside of China, launching in Korea and Japan. In a recent tweet, Midori stated that Persona 5: The Phantom X will be getting a closed beta test and launch for not only Japan but also Western regions. She also revealed that an English version of Persona 5: The Phantom X for a US launch is being developed, with other regions in mind as well. Midori also mentioned that this will be revealed slowly and will "move forward one step at a time." No release window has been set for this game yet other than 2024.

Is Persona 5: The Phantom X Releasing in the West?

Persona 5: The Phantom X had its third beta test this past January, which gave fans access to a brief segment of the game. This includes a brief look at some of the new Phantom Idols introduced in Persona 5: The Phantom X, along with confirming the setting of it being an alternate timeline parallel to the original game. An unknown event has linked the two timelines together, as Wonder is set to work with or even confront Joker from the Phantom Thieves in The Phantom X.

Midori has been a reliable leaker of past Atlus projects so far, as she has confirmed the existence of games like Persona 3 Reload, Persona 5 Tactica, and the recently revealed Shin Megami Tensei 5: Vengeance before their official announcements. More recent claims from Midori involving the Persona franchise include possible remakes of the first two Persona games and Persona 4, a brand-new Shin Megami Tensei title, and more Persona spin-offs. While Midori has had an accurate track record so far, fans should still take this rumor with a grain of salt until either Perfect World Games or Atlus provides more information about Persona 5: The Phantom X.
