Persona 5 Tactica's Story takes players through four "Kingdoms" as the Phantom Thieves search for a way home and fight for Freedom along the way. After taking on every challenge the game's story has to offer, players will be able to access New Game Plus. In New Game Plus players will retain several abilities and items from their previous playthrough(s) while other elements (such as the Phantom Thieves' level) will be reset.

Players wanting to try a New Game Plus playthrough of Persona 5 Tactica should be aware of what does and does not carry over from their previous playthrough(s) before setting out to liberate the Kingdoms all over again, which is where this guide comes in.

How New Game Plus Works

After beating Salmael, the final boss of Persona 5 Tactica, players will be prompted to save "Clear Data" in one of their save slots. Loading this data will allow players to enter New Game Plus. New Game Plus begins the story from the beginning but retains a player's Persona Compendium (& Fusible Personas), Money, Equipment, Report Menu content, and Play Time. Additionally, in New Game Plus players will not be limited by their level when fusing Personas, allowing players to freely fuse Personas of any level right from the start.

The Phantom Thieves level will be reset to 1 in New Game Plus, meaning players will need to level up and acquire skills from the skill trees all over again, making access to high-level Personas and endgame weapons a considerable boon. Indeed, players with access to Personas that can boost EXP gain will find it much easier to fill out the skill trees on a second playthrough. Players who have completed the "Repaint Your Heart" DLC will also gain access to Akechi and Kasumi after reuniting the Phantom Thieves in New Game Plus (during the first Kingdom.) This allows for several new strategies in NG+ that wouldn't be possible in the first playthrough.

Players can make their NG+ playthroughs easier by fusing powerful weapons in the Velvet Room before completing their playthrough, allowing them to bring these tremendously powerful weapons into future playthroughs and decimate Legionnaires in the early stages. NG+ can also be a good time for players to adjust the difficulty and take on a greater challenge for their next playthrough, which can also be helpful if players don't want to be too overpowered in the early stages of the game (thanks to all those powerful weapons and the Persona fusion level limit removal.)
