It's already been public knowledge for the last four days, thanks to an inadvertent leak, but Atlus has now officially confirmed that Persona 5 Strikers is releasing in Western regions in early 2021, specifically on February 23rd, for PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and PC.

One detail that hadn't been given away by that initial leak, however, concerns pre-orders. While Persona 5 Strikers is still a couple of months away, fans can pre-order the game as early as December 10th, with the official website adding that pre-orders will go live at 4pm PST / 7pm EST  and at 12am GMT on December 11th.

Those who managed to check out the website ahead of the announcement trailer's release also spotted details about additional content that will be included with the game and pre-order bonuses, though these details have since been removed from the website.

The Launch Edition, which is available for all three platforms, includes a digital soundtrack with over 40 songs, a digital art book, and a behind-the-scenes video. There is a Steelbook Edition that comes with all that and a steelbook case, but it appears to only be available for the Switch version and is exclusive to Best Buy.

The Digital Deluxe Edition for PC comes with the Launch Edition's extras, as well as the Persona Legacy BGM & All-Out Attack Pack DLC. This DLC comes with additional battle themes that can be played in-game and all come from previous entries, like the original Persona title and Persona 4 Golden. Hopefully, this DLC will be available as a separate download for the PS4 and Switch versions. Lastly, anyone who pre-orders from GameStop will receive an exclusive pin of Persona 5's protagonist, Joker.

For anyone who doesn't know, Persona 5 Strikers (known in Japan as Persona 5 Scramble: The Phantom Strikers) is considered a sequel to the original Persona 5 and sees the Phantom Thieves reunite for a relaxing road trip. But when mysterious incidents begin occurring all over Japan and they discover a new world where innocent peoples' hearts are being stolen, the Thieves return to action to take back those hearts and uncover the truth.

Instead of being an RPG, it instead plays similarly to the Dynasty Warriors line of games and is even developed in conjunction with the same studio, Omega Force, while still retaining many of the RPG elements from Persona 5.

Despite initially being announced in 2019 and releasing in Japan in February this year, Atlus had been eerily quiet about a Western release, leading to some concerns about whether it would be localized at all. Some expressed frustration over the lack of communication, especially after Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity,  another Omega Force game, was announced and released in the space of only a couple of months.

Persona 5 Strikers will release on February 23rd 2021 for Nintendo Switch, PC, and PlayStation 4.
