A new gameplay video showcase of Persona 5: The Phantom X has revealed two new party members that will be joining the extensive Phantom Thief cast. Persona 5: The Phantom X is a mobile and PC spin-off game based off of Persona 5, first announced this past March. Atlus will be partnering with publisher Perfect World Games for its development, as a China exclusive title. It had its first beta test around the same time, with fans finding it to be a similar take on the series formula with some differences.More information about the game recently was revealed during the Tap Tap Games Festival. The Tap Tap Games Festival is a Chinese gaming industry event for various mobile video games, which included Persona 5: The Phantom X. At the beginning of July, Perfect World Games was teasing its appearance at the showcase, complete with a silhouetted figure that stated it would be announcing a new "TA" that would become part of the player's party. This new gameplay showcase has revealed the two of them and their names.RELATED: Persona 5 Tactica Reveals New CharacterThe showcase video reveals that two new party members will be joining the Phantom Thieves, both male. One is a blue-haired delinquent-looking student who is physically fit and helps the protagonist stretch in gym class, who then awakens a Persona. His Phantom Thief attire consists of a cowboy hat, cap, and spurs, while his main ranged weapon is a minigun. The cowboy motifs are emphasized with his All-Out Attack splash screen, which features a mountain range and sunset. His code name is "Soy."

The other playable character introduced is known as "Leo." He has sort dirty blonde hair and an outfit that wouldn't be out of place of a Super Sentai show. His Persona similarly looks like it would be at home in the Kamen Rider series. Leo can apparently summon bolts of energy from the sky as a skill - whether this is unique to Leo or is a skill that can be learned by the Personas in Persona 5: The Phantom X is not confirmed yet.

The video also contains some other details, such as a cutscene of the protagonist of Persona 5: The Phantom X, Wonder, getting charged into by a food delivery cycler who sped onto the train. There are other scenes such as Wonder going on a movie date with Merope, players running into a mysterious NPC in Mementos, and a second Palace based on the Tokyo Imperial Palace. On top of that, the video announced that there will be another beta test that will be running in Q3 2023, which will feature new characters, areas, and stories.

Persona 5: The Phantom X is currently in development for PC and Mobile devices.
