Throughout the nearly seven years since Final Fantasy Brave Exvius debuted in 2015, the popular mobile version of the iconic role-playing game franchise has seen no shortage of crossovers with many of the biggest names in gaming. Previous updates have seen the mobile title add characters and events featuring both Square Enix properties like Kingdom Hearts and Tomb Raider as well as even collaborating with celebrities like musician Ariana Grande in 2017. Now, the Final Fantasy mobile game will welcome another JRPG legend later this week.

Final Fantasy Brave Exvius has steadily expanded its roster since the game's launch with a wealth of characters both from throughout Final Fantasy's storied history and collaborations outside the franchise. The mobile game added Final Fantasy 8's Rinoa Heartilly late last year and has previously introduced Final Fantasy staples like Final Fantasy 7's Cloud, Final Fantasy 10's Tidus, and Final Fantasy 13's Lightning amongst many others. Now, Final Fantasy Brave Exvius' newest collab brings Persona 5's Phantom Thieves into the Final Fantasy world with new units, quests, and Vision cards.

Square Enix officially revealed the English version of Final Fantasy Brave Exvius would be receiving a crossover event with Persona 5, following the Japanese version's Persona event late last year. Players will be able to obtain new exclusive collaborative units of Persona 5's protagonist Joker, as well as fellow Phantom Thieves Queen and the Persona 5 Royal-exclusive Violet. The event will also feature new event quests battling iconic Persona 5 bosses like Shadow Kamoshida and Shadow Kaneshiro in settings based on Persona 5's Palaces.

Brave Exvius players will be able to acquire Queen as a free UR unit through the game's login bonus throughout the event period starting tomorrow, April 27, and running through May 31. Each of the three characters will sport special attacks based on some of their most recognizable techniques from Persona 5, such as Queen's Atomic Flare and Violet's Sword Dance, and will feature end screens for battles replicating their All-Out Attack finishers.

Final Fantasy Brave Exvius' highly-anticipated crossover with Persona 5 comes as many fans are looking to the future of the Final Fantasy franchise. The franchise's massively popular MMORPG saw a boom in its player count last year with Final Fantasy 14 servers filling to capacity, and Final Fantasy 16 has continued to be a hot topic among fans of the franchise despite the game experiencing delays and scarce updates. Brave Exvius collaborating with Persona 5 brings together two of the JRPG genre's biggest franchises for a crossover that should please fans of both series.
