A passionate Persona 5 fan recently showed off their massive collection, featuring multiple copies of every entry in the sub-series. The fifth mainline installment of the popular Persona series of JRPGs was released in 2016 and tells the story of the Phantom Thieves, a group of Japanese teenagers looking to bring about social reform by stealing the distorted desires of corrupt individuals through a mysterious other world known as the Metaverse. Persona5’s blend of dungeon crawling, monster collecting, and social simulation was met with high praise, and to this day it is still considered by many to be one of the greatest Japanese role-playing games of all time.

Persona 5’s success would spawn a series of re-releases and spin-off titles - many of which branched out from the main game’s JRPG format and into different genres. First came Persona 5: Dancing in Starlight, a 2018 rhythm game that saw the Thieves show their moves as part of a dance competition in a world of dreams. A few years later, Persona 5 Royal was released as an update of the original that added new story content and side activities. Persona 5 Strikers crossed the series over with Koei Tecmo's Dynasty Warriors franchise, while 2023’s Persona 5 Tactica placed the Thieves in an isometric tactical RPG.
