Evidence of a Persona 3 remake continues to pile up in what's turning out to be an exciting month for Atlus fans. The fandom has been clamoring for a Persona 3 remake for years now, not least because the 2006 JRPG remains the only 3D Persona game without a definitive edition.

One of the latest pieces of evidence suggesting the game is indeed in the works arrived earlier this month in the form of an alleged Persona 3 remake gameplay leak. The five-second clip showed Yukari Takeba hitting a Venus Eagle with an arrow volley in Tartarus, the game's sole dungeon. The high-definition video wasn't just upscaled footage from Persona 3, as both Yukari and Venus Eagle's models were slightly different compared to those from the original game.

Twitter user MbKKssTBhz5 has now uncovered even more evidence pointing in the direction of a Persona 3 remake, reporting that someone has registered a P3RE.jp domain on March 15. While this wouldn't be the first time a domain registration signaled an arrival of a new Persona game, seeing how Persona 5 Royal leaked in a similar fashion back in 2018, the lack of ownership information attached to the new listing is reason enough for some skepticism.

For context, the last time Atlus inadvertently revealed the existence of a new Persona game via a website domain, it did so through Ryu's Office, its long-time marketing agency of choice. Yet the newly emerged listing omits the name of the domain's owner, stating that this information has been omitted at the registrant's request. That notwithstanding, these April developments aren't the first indications that Atlus might be working on a reimagined version of its hit 2006 JRPG. One industry insider has been reporting that a Persona 3 remake is in development for months now, having last reiterated that claim in January 2023.

And while it's certainly possible that the recently emerged gameplay leak was fan-made, it demonstrated some truly immense attention to detail for a dupe. Apart from the aforementioned character model differences, the leaked gameplay also matched the Venus Eagle to its correct Arqa block of Tartarus, based on the floor pattern seen in the video. Additionally, Yukari's bow attack ended in a knockdown animation in the leak, which made sense because Venus Eagles were weak to Pierce damage in Persona 3.

While it's only been a few months since a remastered version of Persona 3 Portable made its way to PC and consoles in January 2023, an overlapping product roadmap wouldn't be out of the ordinary for Atlus. After all, it wasn't that long ago that PS5 owners had to pay $60 for a 60fps version of Persona 5 Royal.
