Persona 3 Reload has overhauled the way Tartarus works, especially compared to the original version of the game. Not only do characters not get tired after spending the Dark Hour exploring Tartarus, you can restore your HP and SP by spending Twilight Fragments on the small clock by the entrance.

That's not the only clock in Tartarus, either. Starting in July, you can encounter something called the Great Clock while exploring the upper floors. Finding this clock also requires Twilight Fragments, but the benefit it provides to your Persona 3 Reload party members is well worth the cost.

How to Use the Great Clock In Persona 3 Reload

Persona 3 Reload Great Clock Space

Your first encounter with the Great Clock is a scripted moment that takes place in the first section of Block Three in Yabbashah. You trigger it by spending at least one Twilight Fragment to open a chest. Once you do, a large clock with a green portal in the middle will appear next to the staircase.

Once you enter the portal, the game will tell you to choose two party members who aren't the main character. The next time these characters gain experience, they'll gain enough levels to match the main character.

It is important to note that if you leave Tartarus before these characters can fight, they'll lose the benefit of matching the main character's level.

This is an extremely valuable service, because, unlike in Persona 5, your inactive characters never gain experience. And whether you swap in party members often enough to keep them equal or stick with a core group, your main character will always be ahead of some SEES members because he's always in the active party. This means the Great Clock's levels are a big help that only gets bigger no matter what your exploration strategy is.

How to Find The Great Clock in Persona 3 Reload

Persona 3 Reload Great Clock Benefit

The Great Clock comes with an incredibly useful benefit, so it is worth finding and utilizing it as much as possible. There are a few things to consider to help maximize your chances of finding it and its game-changing powers.

  • Great Clock entrances don't seem to appear in Thebel or Arqa, but they can appear on any randomized floor of Yabbashah or higher.
  • Great Clock entrances can appear on any randomized floor, even if it isn't part of the current highest block.
  • The Great Clock can appear multiple times during a single night in Tartarus, but the odds of this happening are very low.
  • The game checks for a Great Clock entrance each time you spend a Twilight Fragment, whether you spend them on opening a chest or on the restoration clocks that sometimes appear on randomized floors. If you have plenty of Twilight Fragments to spare, try using a restoration clock a few times to make the entrance appear.
  • Great Clock entrances don't appear on static floors. The items on these floors are worth the Twilight Fragments, but don't expect to get some free levels at the same time.
  • Breakable objects reset each time you re-enter a floor, and some of them hold Twilight Fragments. You can get an infinite supply of them if you're willing to keep cycling through a block.
  • You can get Twilight Fragments even faster by combining the Devil card with a Dark Zone floor. Dark Zones can also appear on floors you've already visited, but only in Tziah and above.
  • A Great Clock entrance will disappear if you leave the floor you're on for any reason.
  • After using the Great Clock, the game always sends you back to the entrance. Once there, the characters you chose will ask to join the active party if they aren't in it already.
