The Hanged Man is the last of the Arcana bosses in Persona 3 Reload, but it isn't the only fight you have to worry about on the November full moon. Two members of Strega are still hellbent on preserving the Dark Hour, and with one Arcana Shadow left, they have no choice but to defend it.

11/3 is something of a boss rush, although Persona 3 Reload is kind enough to let you rest, save, and reselect your party between the two waves. And, it's a good idea to do so as the ways Strega and the Hanged Man fight are very different.

How to Beat Strega

Strega members Jin and Takaya are both Persona users, but they don't have any elemental weaknesses. Takaya reflects Light and absorbs Dark, while Jin reflects Fire and Dark. This means you should avoid bringing Koromaru, and Ken is less useful. Junpei can help out since he has physical skills, especially since you can knock down both enemies with Critical hits. This means Aigis and Akihiko are also good picks, though Strega has access to both Ice and Electricity attacks.

Jin & Takaya's Attacks & Strategies

In the first round, Jin will always open with Heat Riser to buff Takaya, but the latter's first choice is more random. Takaya prefers to use heavy Dark and Ice skills against the party, while Jin throws grenades that deal Fire and Electricity damage. Jin also has grenades that can deal status ailments like Confuse.

If either Jin or Takaya knock down a party member, they'll Shift to each other the same way you can Shift between party members. Both characters will also start using new abilities once you reduce their HP by a third, including Megidola.

Best Strategy For Strega Fight

Your best bet for winning this fight is to use buffs and debuffs and then focus on either Jin or Takaya. Chidori is Strega's healer, and without her, the other two have no way to get each other back on their feet. Don't be afraid to use Theurgy abilities: you'll have plenty of time in the Hanged Man fight to replenish your Theurgy bars, and Fuuka's Revelation can give every character Charge and Concentrate, which will end this fight in a hurry.

After the fight, you'll get a chance to heal, save the game, and swap party members. When choosing your party, keep in mind that physical skills are just as useful against the Hanged Man as they were against Strega.

Persona 3 Reload: How to Get True Ending

There are two different endings in Persona 3 Reload, but only one is the true ending. This guide will reveal how you can get it.

How to Beat the Hanged Man

You don't get to fight the Hanged Man directly, at least not at first. Instead, you must deal with three statues that block the way. Once you destroy all three, the Hanged Man will fall to the bridge deck and let you fight it directly. Until then, the statues will use a variety of magic, physical, and ailment skills.

Fighting The Statues

Each statue has two weaknesses, one physical and one magical, and resists all other forms of damage. The Hanged Man can re-summon these statues multiple times throughout the fight, and their weaknesses can change between appearances. Fortunately, Fuuka's Scan ability makes it easy to tell which skills to use.

Something else to note is that an All-Out Attack will always drop the statues to 1 HP. This doesn't apply to other forms of Almighty damage, because Megido skills can easily take all three statues out.

Fighting The Hanged Man

Once the Hanged Man is in range, it'll either use Summon to bring the statues back and return to the sky, or it'll use Grim Transcendence to take three actions at once. Sometimes it'll use Grim Transcendence as its third action, allowing it to continue its assault. In particular, you should watch out for when the Hanged Man uses Marakunda to debuff the party's Defense, then uses Heat Riser to buff itself, and ends the sequence with Concentrate. You should either take the next turn to have everyone guard, or else use your buffs and debuffs to reduce the damage of the Hanged Man's upcoming Megidolaon.

Aside from these special abilities, the Hanged Man prefers to use Strike and Darkness skills. As for defenses, the Hanged Man resists Strike attacks, nulls Fire, and reflects Darkness. For these reasons, you should leave Koromaru and Ken out of this fight.

The Final Stage Of The Hanged Man Boss Battle

When the Hanged Man reaches half its HP, it'll summon a special statue that's bigger and more dangerous than the normal set of three. This statue resists all elemental damage, but it's still vulnerable to Almighty attacks and Theurgy abilities. The statue uses Almighty skills on its turn, but one good Theurgy attack will make it disappear in a hurry.

Just like the Strega fight, you should combine buffs and debuffs to deal extra damage, use Fuuka's Theurgy to charge up, and then unleash all your best skills and Theurgy attacks while the Hanged Man is in range. Also like Strega, the Hanged Man is vulnerable to Critical hits, so have your attackers focus on physical skills. If you can keep up the assault, you'll be done with the Hanged Man in no time.
