While many of Persona 3 Reload's initial Social Links are both easy to find and easy to start, certain Social Links require extra steps to access. This becomes more common with Social Links that open up later into the game, such as Maiko's.

Maiko Oohashi is a young girl found playing near the Shrine in Persona 3 Reload. When first encountered, Maiko is hungry and will ask players to grab her some food. Assuming you track down the food, she'll then ask for a drink. After she's had a snack and something to drink, she'll invite the Protagonist to come and play sometime, allowing you to start her Social Link the next time she's available.

Players will overhear some students talking about Maiko on 5/6, indicating that she can be found at the Shrine. Sure enough, heading over to the Shrine and going to the playground on the left side will let you find her. Unlike many of the other Social Links up to this point, however, Maiko won't immediately be ready to hang out. Maiko will ask if you are a bad person and, after confirming that you aren't, will tell you that she's hungry. She wants a specific food but doesn't know the name, simply describing it as Hot, Round, and Soft.

While there isn't a lot to go on, the solution can be found a short way away at the Iwatodai Station Strip Mall. Head to the right side of the Mall to find "Octopia" and purchase "Weird Takoyaki." This octopus-free Deep Fried Octopus Ball is exactly what Maiko is looking for, so grab one for 400 Yen and head back to Maiko. Now that she isn't hungry, her most pressing concern is being thirsty. Once again she's after a specific drink but doesn't know the name, describing it as Mad, Bitter, and Fizzy. She also says you can buy it somewhere at Iwatodai Station, narrowing the search further.

The Drink Maiko is after is "Mad Bull", which can be bought from the vending machine to the right of the escalators. Another 110 Yen and it's time to head back to Maiko. She calls the Protagonist "really nice" and asks if they'll come and play again. From this point onward, you can spend time with Maiko on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Saturdays when she's playing near the Shrine. Maiko is the Social Link for the Hanged Man Arcana, granting an experience bonus to all Hanged Man Personas the player fuses.
