The HBO Max series Peacemaker isn't afraid to offend anyone, especially when it comes to the iconic heroes of the DC Comics universe. However, it appears that one particular diss in the season finale of Peacemaker got a rise of out one of its targets, and since the slander was spoken, Stephen Amell has fired back.

Since the first episode of the HBO Max series aired, Peacemaker has made a habit out of the show's titular character slandering superheroes. In that first episode, he claimed that Aquaman has romantic relations with fish. That particular joke was actually referenced once again in the finale, with the character himself fighting back against that allegation.

Yet another slanderous comment aimed at Green Arrow is now being referenced by the actor who's best known for playing the character these days. Amell, who led what is now known as the Arrowverse with his depiction of the green-clad archer, not only saw the joke about Green Arrow in the season finale of Peacemaker but he had his own comments about it. Those comments surfaced when one particular film and television writer tweeted out that he wondered if Amell had seen the episode and the comment about Green Arrow.

In the episode, Peacemaker claims that Green Arrow “goes to Brony conventions dressed as the back half of Twilight Sparkle with a four-inch-wide butthole drilled in the costume.” Amell responded that he didn't actually see the character make those comments, but it appears that he did know about the diss, considering that he fired back. Amell responded in a quote tweet that indeed he hadn't seen the episode, but it was because he was "too busy showing Cena what professional wrestling should actually look like on tv."

That comment was very clearly a dig at Peacemaker star John Cena, who started his career as a professional wrestler. The comment, which is almost certainly just a good-natured dig back at the actor, also alludes to what Amell has been doing since his run as the Green Arrow came to an end.

Since officially leaving the Arrowverse, Amell's taken on the role of a fictional professional wrestler in Heels. Of course, Amell has made it clear that if he was asked, he'd be open to returning to the Arrowverse and/or the DCEU in some capacity, and that means it's not totally out of the realm of possibility that Amell and Cena could square off on screen at some point.

Peacemaker season 1 is now available on HBO Max.
