No More Heroes is one of the most unique games ever featured on a Nintendo console. Suda 51 is a master of his craft, with each title in the No More Heroes franchise becoming an instant classic due to its varied gameplay, interesting characters, and a plot that is surprisingly engrossing once players get over the inherent silliness of the series.

With the first two games in the series coming over to PC, it's a shame that new fans of the series won't be able to play the final title of this trilogy on this platform. However, there are better things to do than wallow in this disappointment — players can check out the following games on PC that are very much similar to No More Heroes 3 instead!

10 Nier: Automata

Nier Automata

No More Heroes is a title that experiments with several gameplay elements and executes most of them flawlessly. It's a trait that this game shares with Nier: Automata, one of the greatest titles released by Platinum Games.

Yoko Taro's magnum opus is an absolute peach to play through, in no small part due to its excellent combat and gameplay variety. Fans of No More Heroes will feel right at home with Nier: Automata.

9 Bayonetta

Bayonetta winking

This list will make it abundantly clear that the No More Heroes series is extremely similar to most Platinum Games titles. Bayonetta is no exception to this golden rule.

Watching the titular witch use her magical hair to fuel her combos is an adrenaline-pumping moment that doesn't get tiring anytime soon. The first game might have its flaws — with its insta-death QTEs being the bane of many players' existence — but its combat, story, and characters more than makeup for it.

8 Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance

Raiden in Metal Gear Rising Revengeance

The Metal Gear series is full to the brim with some of the greatest video games of all time. While Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance might not fall under this bracket for the majority of fans, this spinoff still has something special going on that makes it a beloved part of the Metal Gear canon.

Controlling Raiden has never been more fun, with the combat of this title being absolutely sublime. Ripping enemies to shreds and then stealing their inner parts to heal Raiden is easily one of the most awesome things anyone can do in a video game.

7 Yakuza 0

Kiryu Kazuma in Yakuza 0

Pretty much every Yakuza title can be recommended for fans of No More Heroes 3 due to the inherently zany nature of most titles. That being said, people who haven't played a single Yakuza title yet will definitely find it extremely easy to get into Yakuza 0.

Along with series mainstay Kiryu, players also get to control the fan-favorite Majima as well. Both these characters are extremely intriguing, and watching them develop over the course of the story is quite fascinating indeed.

6 Killer Is Dead

Killer Is Dead

Grasshopper Manufacture, the developers behind the No More Heroes trilogy, have also created several artistic titles that are worth a mention in their own right. Killer is Dead is one such stylish title that never got the love or credit it deserved.

The game might not be a worldbeater, but it's perfect for fans of No More Heroes who want to try out more titles in the same vein. The enjoyable combat and unique visuals more than makeup for its shortcomings.

5 Killer7

Killer7

Given that Killer7 is also a game by Grasshopper Manufacture, most people consider it to be related to Killer is Dead. However, the developers have clarified time and time again that Killer7 has no relation to this title whatsoever.

Killer7 is another game where Suda 51 had a major influence, and this shows in each and every aspect of this title. People who love No More Heroes for its wacky writing and amazing presentation will absolutely adore Killer7.

4 Vanquish

Sam Gideon in Vanquish

Vanquish is easily one of the most stylish and awe-inspiring third-person shooters ever made. There's a clear emphasis on gun-fu in this title and it shows in each and every aspect of its gameplay.

The game might take a while to get used to, but players who understand how this title works will have a great time. As always, Platinum Games knows exactly how to create an over-the-top combat system, even with shooting mechanics!

3 Hades

Hades Charging Up A Bull Rush To Get Through Asterius

Supergiant Games are masters of integrating narratives with gameplay elements. While their games were fairly popular in the indie scene, it's Hades that established itself as one of their most well-known and successful titles.

Roguelike titles have always been a niche genre, but Supergiant Games managed to develop a title that feels incredibly fresh and makes each run extremely worthwhile for multiple reasons. It's a great way for gamers to get into this genre!

2 Devil May Cry 5

devil may cry 5 protagonists

It would be impossible to talk about great hack-and-slash titles without mentioning Devil May Cry. The series has witnessed its fair share of ups and downs, but the latest entry in the series was almost universally beloved by the masses.

Not only was this game a return to form for Dante, but it also featured an excellent combat system that the Devil May Cry franchise deserved. It helps that the crazy story of this game adds even more enjoyment to this title.

1 God Of War 3

Kratos in God of War 3

Before its critically-acclaimed reboot, God of War was a classic hack-and-slash franchise with blood, guts, gore, and a ton of adult content sprinkled in between. It was a game that was solely meant to make the player truly feel like a rage-fuelled God of War who would stop at no end to get his revenge.

Out of all the classic God of War games, the third title is the most refined and enjoyable of the lot. The set pieces and combat sequences have never felt better, and the game is a worthy send-off to Kratos' time in Greek mythology.
