Payday 3 servers continue to suffer from serious problems, though things are starting to improve somewhat. Co-op heist game Payday 3 has been having a rough launch, with the game's problems readily apparent during its early access period and worsening after its official launch.

During Payday 3 early access, some players struggled to get past the login screen, while others were unable to find anyone to play with using the game's matchmaking system. Payday 3's full release has seen those problems carry over, with the added headaches of the servers going down and making the game completely unaccessible. The Payday 3 developers have been working to resolve the issues, and while many of the problems still persist, the devs have provided a somewhat encouraging update.

According to the Payday 3 developers, things are "starting to look better" for the game. However, the team acknowledged that players might still have a "few issues" while to work to stabilize the game continues. While some players have had better luck playing Payday 3 since this update was issued earlier today, others have not, and in fact, many online are reporting that the servers have gone down yet again. Needless to say, this is an extremely rough start for the game.

Payday 3 is an always-online game, so the servers being down means players can't play it at all. When the servers are up, though, players are still struggling to play with their friends or find randoms to play with through the matchmaking system. Payday 3's Nebula account requirement is also causing some issues and preventing people from playing the game. Hopefully the problems plaguing Payday 3 are sorted out sooner rather than later, though fans may not get their hopes up about having a stable online experience this weekend.

Those that want to try Payday 3 but are cautious about dedicating money to it while it's having these growing pains may want to consider checking it through Xbox Game Pass. Payday 3 released as a day one Xbox Game Pass game, giving subscribers to that service the chance to play at no additional cost across PC and Xbox consoles. Of course, the online connectivity issues that are making the game difficult to play on other platforms apply to the Xbox Game Pass version as well, so fans should keep that in mind.

It remains to be seen how long it will take for the developers to sort out the issues with Payday 3, or if there will be any kind of in-game compensation for fans who bought the game and are currently unable to play it. It's not uncommon for online multiplayer games to give disgruntled fans free in-game items to make up for server issues, but it's unclear if Payday 3 will be going a similar route to try to smooth things over with its community.

Payday 3 is out now for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X.
