Payday 3 developer Starbreeze Studios recently broke its silence regarding its progress on the patches it promised to bring to its latest addition to the series. Fans and gamers found many bugs and issues in Payday 3 and have been waiting for Starbreeze Studios to fix them as soon as possible.

It had been a while since Payday 3 players heard from Starbreeze Studios. The developer hadn't given an update on its progress on and release of the patches that will fix the game's many issues. Fans may remember that various problems sullied Payday 3's launch. These troubles range from matchmaking issues and player disconnections mid-heist to lackluster AI, awkward character movement, and frequent crashes. While Starbreeze fixed the game's matchmaking issue, it has yet to release the patches that resolve the rest of them, which got delayed a few times since Payday 3's release. Additionally, the developer didn't address players' concerns and frustrations about the game since its last update on October 16.

To address players' worries about Payday 3, Starbreeze released a statement detailing what it did during the past few days. According to the developer, it is still working on the patches that will fix the game's issues, assuring players that the main priority is to get the delayed patches for Payday 3 out as soon as possible. The company also said that it sent off the first patch for Payday 3, which is currently going through a "testing and certification process." Starbreeze also revealed why it was uncommunicative in the past few days: it discovered critical errors in its update pipeline shortly after the game's release. The game developer explained that the critical errors could wipe players' progression if they didn't go through a "solid test environment" and remain unaddressed.

Aside from that, Starbreeze also stated that its designers are looking into how Payday 3's progression system can be adapted to balance its challenge system and offer infamy points for each heist. Finally, the game developer stated that players can expect free content updates before 2023 ends, once it can consistently deliver patches for the game. "We see your frustration and anger, and we can assure you this is not a situation we want to be in," Starbreeze said. "The team is working hard on a game that will be supported for years to come and making Payday 3 the new criminal dawn!"

Unfortunately, the lack of any information in Starbreeze's statement about when players can expect the patches for Payday 3 to arrive is sure to disappoint players complaining about the game's issues since launch. However, the developer's statement does show that it is working on fixing the game as soon as it can. Only time will tell if the the patches will be released in time for Payday 3's Syntax Error DLC, which Starbreeze scheduled for release in Winter 2023.

Payday 3 is now out for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S.
