On June 5, the official Payday Youtube channel published a new Payday 3 Developer Diary, sharing details about the game's combat and all the changes and additions it will bring to the title. According to the developer diary, Payday 3 will not segregate enemies based on difficulty. The developer plans to scale damage, accuracy, and enemy numbers when playing in higher difficulties so all players can experience the same enemies and the game's dynamic. Special enemies also received some changes, as developers added new behavior to all of them, making them a more dangerous threat in matches. This change is a meaningful improvement over Payday 2, as in the previous game, some enemies did not spawn in easier heists.

Payday 3 developers also talked about the game's movement and armor system. According to the developers, movement speed will be affected by the total weight of the player, so gamers will need to consider their movement speed when equipping heavy equipment and armor. On the other hand, armor will be split into small sections and cannot be regenerated if one of its sections is destroyed. To Restore armor, players will use an armor bag, similar to medic and ammo bags in Payday 2. Regenerating health and armor will not be possible in Payday 3, so Payday 2's overpowered builds will be less efficient in this game.

Weapons and mods will also receive a change in Payday 3, as developers will allow players to level up weapons by using them in heists and unlocking new mods. In Payday 3, players must learn a recoil pattern to use their weapons, the pattern itself will have some randomness to it, but players must control it to be effective with each weapon. Overall, fans must adapt to more than a scenery change in Payday 3, as the game's developer is making tons of additions to the game. With this in mind, Payday 2 veterans must keep an eye on the following updates to prepare themselves for Payday 3's release.

Payday 3 will launch on September 21 on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S.
