The correct damage build should focus on raw and focused firepower, ensuring the best possible results that will have the player become a powerhouse capable of taking out the entire army, and going head-on against a Bulldozer. Payday 3 has so many skills, that a perfect damage build is inevitable.

8 Gunslinger (ACED)

BASIC – Whenever you switch your weapon, you gain EDGE. Aiming down sights (ADS) will end any EDGE you have active.

ACED – Performing headshots with your weapon in hipfire will refresh any EDGE you have.

Gunslinger is great for gaining EDGE, but only if the player is comfortable with hip-firing their weapon. This benefits shotguns and other weapons with a great spread, due to the easiness of aiming without going down sights.

7 Finisher

If you have EDGE, the last shot of your magazine will consume it to deal 200% more damage.

Gunslinger’s fourth skill is Finisher. This provides players with a whopping 200% extra damage in the last shot of their magazine if they have EDGE. This, combined with a shotgun, can create a truly violent weapon that even the Bulldozers of Payday 3 might cower at.

6 Enforcer (ACED)

enforcer payday 3 skill

BASIC – Whenever you kill 2 enemies within 4 seconds that are within 5 meters of you, you gain GRIT.

ACED – Whenever you kill 1 enemy within 5 meters range, if you have GRIT, gain EDGE.

Enforcer Aced is great due to the fact that it can give players both GRIT and EDGE. The combination of 10% extra damage and taking 10% less damage will create a powerhouse of a heister, especially when they use said abilities to combine with further perk damages. These bonuses are granted by killing enemies within 5 meters in close succession, so certainly one that doesn't benefit stealth.

5 Face To Face

face to face payday 3 skill

As long as you have both EDGE and GRIT, you deal 10% extra damage to targets within 5 meters of you.

The third skill in Enforcer is Face to Face, which will give players a further 10% damage buff to their weapons if targets are within 5 meters, but only if they have EDGE and GRIT. This benefits players who like to get up close and personal, much like the majority of the enemy AI. This is great for shotgun users, as that extra damage will provide a violent kick to those who face the end of the barrel.

4 Ammo Specialist

BASIC – Your reserve ammo capacity is increased by 20%. Ammo bags you deploy have 2 additional charges.

ACED – Whenever you pick up ammo, if your current weapon’s magazine is full, you gain EDGE if you don’t have it.

Ammo Specialist is an essential perk for a damage build, due to the fact that the player will have 20% more bullets in their ammo count, ensuring that they won’t run empty as they pile through their enemies. They can also take 2 additional charges if they carry an Ammo Bag, and they can grant themselves EDGE if they use the Aced version of this perk and pick up ammo whilst the magazine in their gun is full. Ammo Specialist is great, but the perk needed in the Ammo Specialist tree is greater.

3 High Grain

After interacting with an ammo bag, you gain 20% more damage for 10 seconds. This bonus does not stack with itself.

The fifth skill in the Ammo Specialist skill tree is High Grain. This benefits those who take an Ammo Bag into the fight, or just those who are using their friend’s equipment. High Grain is great for when things are just too rowdy, and it’s time to quell the situation, as players can expect a 20% damage bonus for 10 whole seconds after interacting with an ammo bag, and even more so if they have EDGE.

2 Sharpshooter (ACED)

BASIC – Stand still for 1.5 seconds while aiming down sights or scopes and gain EDGE.

ACED – Performing a headshot while aiming down sight will refresh your EDGE.

Although the basic Sharpshooter skill means players need to be more steady and patient by standing still for 1.5 seconds, the fact that it provides them with EDGE just for the simple act of standing still and aiming down sights makes it well worth the patience.

Even better, when Aced, getting a headshot whilst aiming down sights refreshes EDGE, meaning players can keep their damage input increased with this 10% damage bonus, and deal greater damage when going for the head, with a revolver or anything with a kick.

1 Cutting Shot

As long as you have EDGE, your armor penetration is increased.

The fifth perk in the Sharpshooter tree, Cutting Shot is of a grand design, and definitely worth picking up. Every enemy that players will face in Payday 3 during the police assaults will have some level of armor. Whether it’s the Bulldozer or the normal SWAT units. This armor can be hard to get through, but with Cutting Shot, players can use their EDGE to increase their armor penetration. Even better still, EDGE already grants 10% extra damage, meaning even the worst of pistols can be the best.
