Murky Station is one of the most challenging solo missions in Payday 2. This is especially true for those who play on Death Sentence difficulty. The isolated Murky Station has a total of eleven guards that patrol the area. Eight of those guards roam the train station above ground, and three search the tunnels below.
The mission is easier if players take a stealth approach while navigating the train yard. No enemies need to be killed to complete the objectives and achieve a high score. Those that follow the steps below will have no problem getting through the heist on the highest difficulty in the game.
Mission Basics
One of the first things people will want to do is turn down their music volume in game. The music can be distracting, and footstep audio is important during the mission. Anyone that has a working headset will have more success getting through Murky Station. Apart from the eleven guards, there are 14 drones and 3 cameras on the map. The drones survey the trainyard, and the CCTV cameras are in the tunnels below.
Drones indicate that they are surveying by displaying red lights. After the red lights appear, the lights will turn white. Only drones with white lights can spot players on the map. Additionally, the drones are not immune to ECM jammers, which can be used to disable nearby drones for a short period. Blue lights indicate that a drone is temporarily disabled. Unlike other missions in the game, these drones cannot be shot down.

Loot Items
In the train cars, there are two EMP Bomb Parts worth $2 million each. These two items are the main objectives in the mission. There are ten other weapons to find and loot in the rail cars. Finally, two more weapons can be acquired while down in the basement.

Completing The Mission
Now that players have a general understanding of the mission, they can attempt to complete the objectives. For help with choosing a powerful build, check out our Payday 2 builds guide. The spawn point is above the yard, so gamers will want to crouch walk down to the yard. Head down the stairs and use the ladder to reach the basement below. The ladder will lead to four flights of stairs, which lead down into the tunnel system.
Finding The Equipment
People will want to search the area first to begin acquiring the helpful equipment scattered on the map. These items include the Thermite, Hard Drive, Blowtorch, and Keycard. Two will be in the basement, and two will be in the yard. There is actually a Deliveries Board which shows what items are where on the map.
The best way to traverse the basement is in the ventilation shafts. Guards will rarely spot a character crouch walking through the shafts. Every piece of equipment emits a subtle noise. Gamers can use the noises to locate each piece during a playthrough. Almost all of the items are near civilians or guards, so people need to be careful when making a move.
Opening The Rail Cars
To secure the valuable loot in the train yard, gamers will need to open and loot the rail cars. Using the yellow panels, players can hack the computers and open the cars. White lights indicate that the car contains weapons and loot. Red light mean that one of the massive bomb parts is in the car. People should take more of a risk when the cars light up red, as the parts are worth much more than the weapons.
The equipment found earlier in the mission will be necessary to break into the back rooms of the cars and find the desirable loot. There are four different cars with loot, and each will be apparent by the yellow computer console on the exterior of the car. Before running off with the goods, there is one more thing players will want to pick up. In the middle of the yard, there is a blue forklift with boxes surrounding it. On the box being supported by the forklift, there is a confidential pamphlet that contains the plans for a cosmetic mod. Jump on the forklift to pick up the confidential item.
Getaway Vehicles
Once all of the railcars are looted, it is time to secure the spoils. If the user has a van as a getaway, it will show up near the spawn point. Those that have a getaway boat will exit the map near the docks on the opposite side of the yard. With that, gamers should know enough about the Murk Station to get through it on any difficulty.
