Action RPGs contain plenty of collectable resources to help players on their mission to grind for better equipment and slay bigger beasts. Whatever form these resources take, the goal is always the same: help the character gain strength by whatever means necessary.
In Path of Exile, one of the most sought-after resources is Voltaxic Sulphite. Sulphite is used for delving, allowing the user to travel to undiscovered checkpoints around the Axorite Mine. The mine itself can be a reliable source of Axorite if the player knows where and how to look. Here's everything the player needs to know about finding Voltaxic Sulphite.
Understanding Sulphite Deposits
To gather more Sulphite, the player must chance upon Sulphite deposits within dungeons. Like capturing beasts, this process is more complicated than it sounds, as there are a variety of factors that influence the amount of Sulphite which will be found. The amount of Sulphite is affected by the area's level as well as any relevant quantity bonuses, such as those provided by Atlas region skills. Overall,the Atlas region is the best area to farm Sulphite.
Whether running a solo build or playing with others, it's usually wise to look to the Atlas region when one's supply of Voltaxic Sulphite begins to dwindle. Fortunately, the need for Sulphite doesn't pose a significant barrier to the player in the late game, thanks to the combination of larger deposit sizes and increased storage capacity for the Sulphite that is found.
Mining With Niko The Mad
Thankfully, the mining takes care of itself once the player has located Sulphite. Niko the Mad will appear in the area and begin the mining process, depositing all mined Sulphite directly into the player's inventory. At least Niko's convenient intervention makes it hard for players to ruin their own playthrough.
Niko will also appear in a random part of the map (marked with a gear) once per day. If the player has already unlocked that area, going there will guarantee the player will receive Sulphite from nearby deposits.
Using Scarabs
In addition to the passive bonuses granted by the area's level and quantity bonuses, the player can use Sulphite Scarabs to increase the Sulphite yield from each deposit on maps. Scarabs can either be purchased or looted once the player has Cameria in the Intervention branch of safehouse rewards.
Scarabs grant bonuses in 20% increments. The best of them (the Winged Sulphite Scarab) increases Sulphite gain by 100%. Even without the Winged version, using lower-level Sulphite Scarabs can still significantly boost yields over time, so they play a crucial role in mining. Whether the player needs to trade, beg, borrow, or steal to get Scarabs, it's worth it.
Sulphite Storage
An important part of getting more Sulphite is having the storage necessary to hold it all. It's not hard to increase the size of one's Sulphite storage, and by doing so, the player makes their delving more efficient, able to haul back more and more Sulphite from the mine and stay in the mine longer.
The player can use Azurite at the Voltaxic Generator to increase Sulphite storage capacity. Using this method, the player will be flooded with resources in no time, something that's always important in games like Path of Exile.
