Life in Palworld can be peaceful if players choose to live a sedentary life, but that can turn on its head with the announcement of a falling meteor. Meteors are a random event that involves a meteor falling from the sky, crashing to the ground, and giving players an opportunity to gather meteorite fragments. Unfortunately, mining this item won't be so easy once players reach the destination.

Selyne is one of three pals that Syndicate Grunts bring along to defend them from incoming threats. Unlike Xenogard and Xenovader, Selyne has a more graceful appearance, carrying a celestial crescent moon on its back and attacking with grace over power. As a Neutral and Dark-type pal, Selyne can hit players and enemy pals with many high-powered moves that can keep everyone at bay.

Where to Find and Catch Selyne in Palworld

Selyne Location

Selyne in Palworld wild

If players open up their Paldeck and seek out Selyne's location, they will quickly be met with disappointment. Selyne is a pal that cannot be encountered in the wild as a static encounter, so there's no point in searching for it. Instead, players will have to wait for a meteor event and head to the crash site, hoping to find a Selyne amongst the Syndicate Grunts.

Meteors will always have Syndicate Grunts infesting the area in order to mine the meteorite fragments for themselves, but which pal they bring along with them is completely random. They may bring along a Xenovader, a Xenogard, or, in some rare instances, a Selyne. The Dark and Neutral-type pal will be noticeable when encountered, as it differs from the large and menacing Xenogard and Xenovader.

Selyne will still attack players on sight, as they are commanded to do so by their Syndicate Grunts. They can pack quite a punch with their versatile moveset, and Selyne also has a way out of a battle by self-destructing. This may make catching Selyne feel more frustrating compared to the other two pals, as they can randomly self-sacrifice without warning and take themselves out of the fight.

Selyne typically self-destructs when its HP dips below a certain point. A good strategy is to equip a Ring of Mercy and several Ultimate Spheres and prepare to throw them as soon as Selyne's health is at 1. Selyne won't be able to self-destruct while popping out of a sphere, so keep throwing them until it is caught.

Selyne Skills & Work Suitability, Explained

Selyne in Palworld paldeck

Selyne offers players tremendous value at the base thanks to its versatility in various job skills. Selyne has Level 3 Handiwork, Medicine Production, and Transporting, making it a busy body with endless tasks to perform as a part of the team. Its Medicine Production work suitability is especially helpful, as there are several medicinal items and remedies that should be prioritized.

Unlocking Selyne's flying mount will also allow players to take advantage of its partner skill, Celestial Darkness, which gives players another flying mount to use. Additionally, all Fire and Dark-type active skills will receive a small boost while Selyne is mounted, so it's best to prepare Selyne with at least one fire elemental attack in order to take full advantage of their partner skill.

While Selyne can be built accordingly to be a serviceable member of any team, it's worth noting that its work suitability is also strong enough to keep at least one at the base. Medicine Production is invaluable, and when Selyne isn't preparing an order of medicinal products, they are always free to lend a hand with tidying the place up or preparing the next batch of weapon ammo.
