Alpha bosses are battles in Palworld with a heightened degree of difficulty. These menacing and large pals can be found in one area of the Palworld map, focusing on their brute strength, and challenging players to bring their absolute best in order to take it down. With Ancient Technology points and an absurdly strong pal to catch, Palworld's alpha bosses are can't miss experiences.

Knocklem is one of the few alpha bosses in the Sakurajima region, but finding it will take some time. Fortunately, its unmistakable appearance and massive size make it hard to miss, and its attack will have players engaged in a long battle. According to its paldeck entry, Knocklem is made up of 215 different parts, but destroying its main body may seem easier than it really is.

Where to Find and Catch Knocklem in Palworld

Knocklem Location

Knocklem in Palworld battle

Deep in the Sakurajima region, a level 55 Knocklem alpha boss can be encountered. This means players will first need to unlock one of the few fast travel waypoints in the area before beginning the search. Thankfully, Knocklem's location is given away on the map once players reach the area, though making their way to the alpha boss will require a few specific things before taking it on.

Since Knocklem is at the bottom of a certain area in the Sakurajima region, players should bring along a flying mount or their best glider in order to navigate down to the depths of Knocklem's layer. A pal like Nitewing or Jetragon will suffice and provide players with a powerful pal that can do chip damage alongside the player. Be sure to bring along the best available firepower and armor, as Knocklem has access to many high-damage moves.

A good way to avoid knocking Knocklem out is to equip a Ring of Mercy as one of the accessories, as it helps keep enemy pals alive by not allowing them to go lower than 1 HP. This will help with preventing pals from fainting during battle and can be purchased from the vendor at the Small Settlement location for 3000 coins. A small price to pay to ensure the battle continues for as long as it takes to catch Knocklem.

Knocklem is both strong and very defensive, and is agile despite its size. It would be wise to have one healing pal in the team to ensure the player's health doesn't drop to dangerously-low levels. If Knocklem is knocked out, it will take one hour of gameplay to respawn it in its natural location.

Knocklem Skills & Work Suitability, Explained

Knocklem in Palworld paldeck

Like most alpha pals in Palworld, Knocklem is an extremely powerful ally to have on the team. As a pure ground-type pal, Knocklem will have access to many active skills of this element that can quickly turn the tables in a battle. Its sheer size alone is intimidating to anything it crosses, and Knocklem's mix of attack power and defense make it a well-rounded combat pal to keep in the team.

To make matters worse for the enemy, Knocklem's partner skill, Steel Guardian Mode, grants a significant boost to Knocklem's attack and defense stats. Once activated, this skill will make Knocklem practically untouchable and destructive at the same time. In a pinch, using Steel Guardian Mode can quickly turn things around and cause maximum chaos against anything in its way.

This isn't to say that Knocklem isn't a worthwhile pal to have at the base, as this couldn't be further from the truth. Knocklem has a Level 4 Transporting work suitability that puts it atop the list of its class, and its Level 3 Gathering and Mining are excellent complimentary skills. If players can catch more than one, or breed up a couple at the base, Knocklem could be a pal that contributes more than most of the pals with the same skill set.
