When it comes to the pals of Palworld, you're in for a delightful surprise with each encounter. While the game's inspiration may echo classics like Pokemon, it's the unique mechanics and behaviors of these pals that truly make Palworld shine. Adding to their charm are the quirky descriptions that give each pal its own distinct personality. Take, for instance, Hangyu, an eccentric pal with arms of extraordinary strength, known for administering justice on the Palpagos Islands by hanging wrongdoers. Its peculiar name likely stems from this very attribute. Yet, Hangyu is just the tip of the iceberg.

There's also Lovander, an even stranger companion listed at #69 in the Paldeck. If the name and number alone don't pique your interest, Lovander's description certainly will. Described as a pal on a quest for nocturnal affection, Lovander's curiosity extends even to the humans of Palpagos Islands, sometimes resulting in unexpected encounters for players. Those looking for one of their own need only follow this guide to learn how to capture and breed Lovander in Palworld.

How to Find and Capture Lovander in Palworld

Palworld - Lovander Locations

There are two locations where you can find Lovander spawning in the wild - Twilight Dunes and Dessicated Desert. This pal will only spawn during the nighttime, which should be of no surprise given its description. If you are new to the Palpagos Islands, the Twilight Dunes are the closest place where you can find Lovander. It is located north of Bamboo Groves and lies in the heart of the archipelago. A Lovander spawning here can be around level 15-20, so having a Mega or Giga sphere should be more than enough to capture it.

For those who have unlocked the Dessicated Desert located in the northeast of Palpagos Islands, these sand dunes serve as a better place for catching Lovander. Before heading straight into the desert, however, be sure to craft heat-resistant armor to survive the warm environment. Being one of the largest regions, players can find and catch many Lovanders in the Desiccated Desert. However, Lovanders found here are near level 40 and require at least Hyper and Ultra pal spheres for high capture rates.

Wild Lovanders spawn only during the nighttime.

How to Breed Lovander in Palworld

Palworld - Rushoar and Tombat breeding

After reaching level 19 in Palworld, you can unlock the Breeding Farm building. Breeding is definitely one of the best features Palworld has to offer, and it's something you shouldn’t sleep on. Using a Breeding Farm, you can breed almost any other mob, including Lovander.

Flambelle is one of the best Fire Type Pals to acquire as a Base worker during the early to mid game in Palworld.

There are many combinations available for breeding a Lovander in Palworld. Out of all combinations, the easiest and most beginner-friendly method to get Lovander is by breeding a Rushoar with a Tombat. Both of these pals are available in the early-game regions and are quite easy to catch. Rushoars and Tombats are natural inhabitants of all starter islands, along with the areas around the Desolate Church. However, Tombat is a nocturnal pal, so you can only discover it in the wild during the nighttime.

Place a Rushoar and a Tombat of opposite genders in the breeding farm and add a cake to the food box. Wait for a few minutes, and the pair of pals will give birth to a large egg. Now, put this egg into an egg incubator and patiently await its hatching to welcome your new Lovander pal.

Aside from breeding Rushoar and Tombat, here are some other pals that can breed Lovander:

  • Direhowl + Dinossom
  • Jolthog + Grintale
  • Lamball + Sweepa
  • Cattiva + Nitewing
  • Nitewing + Cremis

Lovander Drops, Skills, and Attacks in Palworld

Palworld - Lovander Work skills

Lovander is a Neutral pal with one of the weirdest drops in Palworld. It will always drop mushrooms when defeated but also has a minuscule chance of dropping odd items like a Cake, Suspicious Juice, Strange Juice, and Memory Wiping Medicine. These are certainly strange things for a pal to have, but if you want them, going on a Lovander hunting session is always an option.

As for working skills, Lovander comes with Level 1 in Mining and gets Level 2 in Handiwork, Transporting, and Medicine Production. Lovanders don’t excel in any particular work skill but can be a jack of all trades as a result of having four different skills. If you are looking for a pal with high-level work skills, Lovander isn’t the right choice.

Lovander comes with a partner skill called Heart Drain, which absorbs and restores HP when you are fighting together. However, this skill rarely finds its use, as there are many other powerful pals in Palworld. Players can still use Lovander in their battles once it reaches high levels. At level 40, Lovander learns Implode, a self-exploding skill that is helpful against high HP targets like Legendary Pals and Tower bosses.
