Highlights

  • The latest Palworld patch addresses breeding complaints and fixes crashes and server issues for Steam users.
  • Xbox players are still waiting for updates to bring parity between versions, with some features lacking on console.
  • Future Palworld updates aim to continue polishing the game for its 1.0 release.

Palworld has received its second update this week, with the update currently available to Steam users and still in the works for Xbox gamers. Earlier this week, Palworld received a new update that aimed to make the game run smoother and address some of its lingering bugs. Unfortunately, that new Palworld update also made a change that was not received well by the open world survival game's massive community.

The latest Palworld update made it so players could no longer breed out negative traits when breeding Pals. This upset Palworld players who enjoyed breeding ultra-powerful creatures, and so the developers promised to roll things back. The latest update does just that, but it doesn't stop there, making a number of other important changes to the game.

Xbox Selling New Palworld-Inspired Controllers

Palworld announces two new Xbox controllers inspired by a couple of Pals as its latest hardware collaboration with Microsoft's console.

After downloading Palworld Update 0.1.5.1, players should notice fewer game crashes, fewer instances of getting trapped in dungeons, and the elimination of the issue where Pal name changes wouldn't stick. Various server issues have also been addressed in the latest Palworld update. Since there is a lack of parity between the PC version of Palworld and the Xbox version, those playing Palworld through Steam on PC can download the update now, while Xbox gamers will have to wait a little while longer before it drops for their platform of choice.

Palworld players on Xbox are still waiting for some important updates that will bring the game much closer to its PC counterpart. The biggest thing is that Palworld on Xbox currently lacks dedicated servers. Not only that, but Palworld co-op play is limited to four players on Xbox, while those on PC can adventure with up to 32 players. Xbox is reportedly working closely with developer Pocketpair to improve the Xbox version of the game, and so, hopefully, fans don't have to wait too much longer to see those features implemented.

More Palworld updates will likely come in the meantime that fix the game's bugs and continue polishing it in the build-up to its eventual 1.0 release. Palworld has already enjoyed tremendous success in early access, but it could potentially bring back its lapsed players when it finally hits 1.0. It will be interesting to see all the new features added to Palworld as the open world survival game continues to evolve in the months ahead.
