Table of contents

Throughout the Palpagos Islands, players will encounter many weird and wonderful Pals, but not all of them are suited to combat. While some Pals specialize in wreaking destruction and havoc upon one another, others aren't so well suited to the task. Fortunately, there is a lot more to Palworld than just combat, and many of these Pals can be put to good use in other areas of the game.

In addition to their base element type, Pals also have a range of Active Skills, which can be improved as they level. They also have Partner Skills, which sometimes require players to craft specialist Pal Gear to unlock. Each Pal also has a range of different Work Suitabilities, which will give them a starting edge when assigned to certain tasks. These Pals are much better utilized at the base, rather than in battle.

Palworld: Best Grass Pals, Ranked

Players on the hunt for the best Grass Pals in Palworld should keep their eyes peeled for the following creatures.

8 Lamball

Better Suited For Ranch Work

Palworld Pals To Sell Lamball
  • Element Type: Neutral
  • Locations: Forgotten Island, Ice Wind Island, Sea Breeze Archipelago, Marsh Island, Plateau of Beginnings, Ascetic Falls

Lamball is a relatively passive Pal with little to offer in terms of combat. This Pal does have some other uses, though, such as producing Wool when assigned to a Ranch. This valuable resource can then be used to craft items such as Cloth, which is used in many armor types.

In addition to producing Wool, Lamball can also be assigned to other work duties, including Farming, Transporting and Handiwork. As a combatant, Lamball is relatively weak, even when upgraded with higher level Active skills.

7 Mozzarina

Stick To Making Milk

  • Element Type: Neutral
  • Location: Ascetic Falls

Mozzarina is another relatively docile Pal with little combat utility. The creature can be used to farm Milk and Mozzarina Meat, which can be consumed and used in a variety of other recipes. When assigned to a ranch, the "Milk Maker" Partner Skill will cause Mozzarina to occasionally produce Milk.

Palworld: 7 Important Materials You Can Only Craft

Crafting is essential in Palworld, and these vital materials are only available if players make them for themselves.

As a base worker, Mozzarina is only really suited to Farming, and won't be as efficient as other Pals even at this task. In combat, Mozzarina has a combination of relatively basic Ground and Neutral element attacks, which aren't very useful.

6 Vixy

Little To Offer In Terms Of Offense

Palworld Pals To Sell Vixy
  • Element Type: Neutral
  • Location: Windswept Hills, Flying Fish Coast

Vixy is a relatively ineffective Pal with one of the weaker Partner Skills in the game. When assigned to a Ranch, Vixy will dig for random items and occasionally retrieve them. While it can occasionally yield some rarities, generally it is not worth the hassle, and players can find better items on their own.

Vixy has a combination of weak Grass and Neutral Active Skills, along with the Sand Blast Ground attack at Level 7. In general, it is not a great strategy to bring this Pal into combat, since there are far better available options with superior Partner Skills.

5 Mau

Leave It At The Base To Dig Up Gold

MauPalworldWild
  • Element Type: Dark
  • Location: Dungeons

Much like Vixy, Mau is a specialized Pal which acts more as a novelty than a utility around a player's base. The "Gold Digger" Partner Skill means that Mau will occasionally dig up gold coins when assigned to a Ranch at the player's base.

Palworld: Best Fire Pals

Fire Pals are crucial to making progress in Palworld, providing warmth in cold areas and fueling both furnaces and stoves.

In combat, Mau has several basic Dark element skills, but nothing that makes it stand out as superior from any other Pal of the same type. While Mau can be a nice addition to bases, it is generally not very useful when fighting against other Pals.

4 Hangyu

Offers Many Uses, Just Not In Battle

Palworld Pals To Sell Hangyu
  • Element Type: Ground
  • Location: Sand Dunes, Investigator's Fork

Hangy might not be the best Pal to bring into combat, but there are a range of other uses for this oddly-designed creature. The "Flying Trapeze" Partner Skill enables players to use Hangyu as a glider, but they will need to craft the Hangy's Gloves Pal Gear to unlock this ability.

In addition to being a decent glider, Hangyu can also be helpful around a base. It has work suitability in Handiwork and Gathering, as well as Level 2 Transporting, which is arguably its greatest use. Aside from this, Hangyu offers little that cannot be found elsewhere.

3 Fuddler

Decent For The Early Game, But There Are Better Options

Palworld Worst Pals For Combat Fuddler
  • Element Type: Ground
  • Location: Sand Dunes, Investigator's Fork

Fuddler is certainly not the worst Pal around, and can make for a decent early-game Ground type. However, it is relatively limited in combat, with a handful of basic Active Skills. Fuddler's "Ore Detector" Partner Skill indicates that it is best used to seek out ore and mine it.

Palworld: 6 Pals You Should Not Sell

There are some Pals found in Palworld who may be worth a lot of gold, but are even more valuable when they're put to work in the correct way.

In addition to Mining, Fuddler is also suited to Handiwork and Transporting. Generally, this Pal type can make for a decent base worker, but with quite a limit on work suitability. As for combat, there are many better options available throughout the game.

2 Depresso

Better As A Speedy Base Worker

Two Depressos from Palworld
  • Element Type: Dark
  • Location: Forgotten Island (Night), Ice Wind Island (Night), Sea Breeze Archipelago (Night), Marsh Island (Night)

Depresso is one of the less enthusiastic Pals players can acquire on their travels, and unfortunately, has little utility in combat or as a base worker. The Dark Lazer and Shadow Burst Active Skills are quite generic for the element type, and Depresso's Partner Skill simply increases its own movement speed.

While Depresso is not especially useful in combat, he can be put to better use as a worker, since this is where the movement speed is likely to be more useful. This Pal is suited to Handiwork, Mining and Transporting, but all will start, begrudgingly, at Level 1.

1 Woolipop

Here For The Aesthetic

Palworld Pals To Sell Woolipop
  • Element Type: Neutral
  • Location: Windswept Hills

Woolipop is one of the least aggressive Pals in Palworld and is definitely not suited to frontline combat. None of this creature's Active Skills stand out as particularly effective, and its Partner Skill is to produce cotton candy when assigned to a ranch. As such, it has very little combat utility.

There are 13 Water Pals available for players to find in Palworld, but some of them are better than others. Here are the best ones.

Resembling a cross between a poodle, a sheep and a ball of cotton candy, Woolipop is more of an aesthetic Pal, but can also be used for Farming if necessary. If defeated, Woolipop may drop either Cotton Candy or High Quality Pal Oil.
