Dungeons in Palworld are just one of the many things to do at any moment on the Palpagos Islands where this game takes place, which is probably why the game has sold so incredibly well. But in particular, for those who want a dungeon-crawling experience, some good items, and a chance to find some 'rare' Pals, Dungeons are going to be especially important. The general gameplay loop of Dungeons is simple, you head in, explore all the branching paths full of enemies or minerals, and make it to the end room with the Alpha Pal and the reward room behind them.

The following mounts make exploring Plaworld's vast open spaces far more enjoyable and substantially quicker.

And, while the Alpha Pals (especially the ones at the ends of Dungeons) don't have much statistical difference from regular pals outside of their size, that size increase alone makes them a highly sought-after commodity. So let's go over the exact method you can take in Palworld to get the most desirable Pal at the end of a Dungeon that's near your player level.

Updated February 19th, 2024 by Russ Boswell: There are a lot of dungeons to take down in Palworld, each with their own larger and more difficult Pal to take down. While these Pals may seem like they're set in stone, it's actually possible to reset them and re-roll them until players get the Pal they're looking for, or one they don't have. Thankfully, it's pretty easy to do this, if players know how. Here's a look at how to Reset and Re-Roll Dungeon Bosses in Palworld.

How To 'Re-Roll' Dungeon Bosses

And Why It's Even Worth Doing

Palworld - Resetting Dungeon Boss In 3 Steps

This little 'trick' is a very simple one, but is one that not many people have discovered due to the slightly odd set of circumstances needed in order to discover it. The entire strategy is based around one central (likely unintended) mechanic of Palworld where the Dungeon Boss actually 're-rolls' each time the player enters said Dungeon. To easily use this in your favor, simply enter the Dungeon, explore it with the intention of finding the Boss Room as quickly as possible, see what the Dungeon Boss is, and then either run back and leave the Dungeon or 'Return to Title' from the pause menu to load back in outside the Dungeon.

After doing this, re-enter the Dungeon, get to the Boss Room again, and see if the new result is a Pal you're more likely to catch. While this might seem tedious, there is some merit to doing this. Leveling up Pals is assuredly a lot easier than leveling up Pokemon, that's not really up for debate, but it can still be pretty arduous to get a level 3 or so caught up to everyone else in the 30+ level range. This way, players can just enter a level 30 Dungeon, re-roll until they find the Pal they care about, and then catch the Alpha version of it without having to do all the work to catch it up to everyone else.

It is worth noting again that, outside of maybe a specific Move or a small difference of 10 or so Stat Points, Alpha Pals are pretty much the same statistically as normal Pals. So, this tactic is usually used either so that players can find 3+ copies of the same Pal in the Boss Room for their 'Catch 10 of each Pal' EXP challenge, to gather more of the same Pals for the Condenser, or so players can get a version of a Pal design they'll like even more than the original.
