Wool is a useful resource that is used to make Cloth and is very quickly consumed in the early game. Palworld's tutorial doesn't cover how to get wool, but we'll share three methods you can use to get it quickly. All methods include features for beginners and advanced players, so you can get wool almost always.

How to Get Wool in Palworld

Palworld: Lamballs

Depending on your progression in the game, some of the methods will be unavailable to you for certain reasons, while others you may find too cruel. Regardless, let's talk about each of them in more detail so you can decide which one is best suited for you.

Find and Kill Pals

Palworld: Lamballs

The first and easiest method is to find and kill Pals. For some people, such a method of obtaining this resource may not work, but in the beginning, you will practically have no choice. Of course, not all Pals drop Wool; there are a few of them:

  • Cremis
  • Lamball
  • Melpaca

The most common of them are Lamballs. These are low-level Pals that you can easily find even in the initial locations. Usually, they can be found during the day, on the lawns, and you don't even need a weapon to kill them.

It's worth noting that Wool is not guaranteed to drop, so you may need to kill a few Lamballs to get it. If you're a beginner, you can quickly get a few Wool and create Cloth from them to craft some useful items, such as a Parachute or a new outfit.

Build a Ranch

Palworld: Ranch

If you have already partially progressed in the game and reached at least level 5 in the Technology tab, you can use a more automated method by unlocking the Ranch structure. Once you have done so, you can place it on your base, which requires the following resources:

  • Stone x20
  • Fiber x30
  • Wood x5

Once the Ranch is built, take your Pal Spheres and go searching for the Lamballs we mentioned earlier. Instead of killing them, catch them and place them in the Ranch. Done; now you have an automated farm that occasionally produces Wool.

Buy From Wandering Merchant

Palworld: Wandering Merchant

The last method that we learned about accidentally is purchasing this resource. From time to time, while traveling around the world or sitting at your base, you will encounter Wandering Merchants. These are NPCs who wander the world and sell and buy various goods.

There is a chance that you can find Wool among the assortment of items, as you can see in the screenshot above, and it costs 100 Gold. This method is not effective because the chance of meeting a Wandering Merchant is quite low, so instead, it is better to kill Lamball.
