Palworld is an intriguing open-world survival crafting game where players can befriend, capture and train mysterious creatures called “Pals”. To effectively capture a Pal, players need a technological item called a Pal Sphere. If players want to make such Pal Spheres from scratch, they will require Paldium Fragments.

Paldium Fragment is an essential crafting material in Palworld. New players often find it hard to locate these special fragments, given the extensive size of the map. However, with this guide, they can learn how to get their hands on Paldium Fragments easily and make quick progress in Palworld.

Palworld has over 100 Pals to find and a vast map to explore, not to mention a ton of dungeons to explore and items to gather and craft.

Where To Find Paldium Fragments in Palworld

When players are out exploring the world, they need to keep an eye out for glowing blue Paldium rocks. Mining these small ore nodes with a Pickaxe yields around 6 to 8 Paldium Fragments.

These Paldium rocks are more commonly spawned near rivers and flowing water. It’s recommended that players thoroughly explore nearby clearings in the starting area, as those shiny blue rocks are scattered all over the place.

Players can craft a Stone Pickaxe at the Primitive Workbench, using 5 pieces of Wood and 5 Stones. If this item is equipped when mining the ore nodes, the chance of getting a higher yield increases slightly.

Alternatively, players also have the chance to find Paldium Fragments while mining regular rocks and stones. This is not as reliable as mining Paldium rocks, but it is worth a try. Players might even find singular blue Paldium Fragments occasionally lying around on the grass.

How To Use Paldium Fragments

Aiming a Pal Sphere in Palworld

Many useful early-game items require Paldium Fragments, such as Pal Spheres and Palbox.

Pal Spheres

Pal Spheres are a tier 2 technology item in PalWorld. Players require 1 Stat Point to unlock them. These spheres are capable of capturing wild Pals when thrown. However, the basic model is only effective against low-level Pals.

Pal Spheres are usually dropped as loot, but it is also possible to craft them at a Primitive Workbench. Players will need the following materials:

  • 1 Paldium Fragment
  • 3 Wood
  • 3 Stone

Palbox

Another tier 2 technology item, the Palbox, is a facility for storing captured Pals. It functions as a terminal that makes it easier for players to manage their Pals at their base. Pals stored inside a Palbox gradually recover their HP. To craft a Palbox, players need the following materials:

  • 1 Paldium Fragments
  • 8 Wood
  • 3 Stone
