Palworld is not only about collecting Pals and progressing in the game with their help. You must also build your base and craft different items as you progress. Crafting stairs is a must if you plan to make yourself a multi-storied building in the game.

Crafting every item in Palworld is an easy process, and the game also shows the recipe and required materials. However, building the stairs might seem tricky to some players, as this craft requires precise positioning from the player’s end.

How to Build and Place Stairs in Palworld

While starting with Palworld, you will take up the task of building the perfect base for yourself and your pals. Your base will also include a house for you, serving you many purposes, including sleeping, feeding, or other activities available in the game. And stairs are undoubtedly one of the most important things you will place while building your beloved house in this new world.

Before building a staircase, ensure you have built a wooden foundation at the bottom of your building. Then, you must have a wooden roof to connect the lower floor to the stairs. To make stairs, you will need x2 Wood, which is relatively easy to find, as you can find tons of wood just by exploring the nearby areas around your base.

After building the floor and the roof, go to your Build menu and head to the Foundation Build section. Here, you will find a building called Wooden Stair. Select and press this build to enable the building process.

However, most players might need some help with placing the stairs. They are a little tricky to understand initially, but there are a few things to know that will make the entire stair-building procedure easier for you.

While trying to place stairs on your building, you will likely get two messages written in red on your screen. One reads, “Overlaps with other objects.” While the other reads, “Not connected to a structure.” The latter should not be a problem if you have followed the previous steps mentioned in our guide. However, the stairs getting overlapped with other objects might give you some trouble.

This might test your patience, and the whole thing becomes easier if you understand how to position the stairs properly. Firstly, make sure that the direction of the stairs is aligned with the direction in which your floor is built. You can rotate the stairs using the scroll wheel on your mouse. After you finish the alignment, go near the block where you plan to place the stairs. Remember that you cannot correctly place stairs on a block if you are standing too far away from it.

Finally, move your crosshair on the screen to such a position that the stair appears in the blue holographic figure on your screen. Once you finish the final positioning, press the build button to build the stairs successfully.
