Among the many Water-type Pals in Palworld, Jormuntide stands out as one of the most intimidating of all. This huge sea dragon is dubbed the Emperor of the Sea for a reason — not only does it look regal, but it also has the power to blow most other Pals out of the water.

Gorrirat is a fantastic Normal Element, multi-purpose, Pal whose utility in combat is matched by its utility around the base.

Jormuntides are as majestic as they are fearsome, and players are going to need to upgrade their tech if they want to catch one for themselves. Here's a guide on where to find a Jormuntide and how to beat it into submission.

Palworld: Jormuntide Location and Boss Tips

Jormuntide boss location in Palworld

You can find a Lv. 45 Jormuntide as a boss enemy in the lake near the Investigator's Fork and Sealed Realm of the Thunder Dragon teleport waypoints. It's surrounded by wild Surfents, which may complicate things since they attack on sight.

Both Jormuntide and the Surfents in the area are Water-type Pals. They are strong against fire yet weak against electricity. You don't have to worry about the Jormuntide swimming in the water since you can always pick a fight with it once it slithers onto land. Thankfully, the surrounding Surfents are all within the Lv. 16 range, so the Jormuntide should be the only one that poses a real threat to you.

A production assembly line in palworld

At this point, you should already have access to Production Assembly Lines and the Assault Rifle. We highly recommend bringing this weapon with you to maximize DPS against the Jormuntide. Bring an Electric Pal like Rayhound, Beakon, or Lux variants of the Mossandra and Relaxaurus. A Lv. 45 Electric Pal will deal massive damage against Water-types while simultaneously resisting all incoming water-based attacks. If possible, find a piece of cover and stay behind it while taking potshots at the Jormuntide. As much as possible, let your Pal do most of the work.

To maximize your odds of capturing a Jormuntide, shock it with a Stun Baton, then throw your best Pal Sphere at it. Legendary Pal Spheres are highly recommended when trying to catch anything beyond Lv. 40, and you should be able to craft some after you unlock its blueprint at Lv. 44. To make a Legendary Pal Sphere, you'll need Pal Metal Ingots, Carbon Fiber, Cement, and Paldium Fragments.

Jormuntide has Lv. 4 Watering Proficiency, making it one of the best Pals to use for growing vegetables and operating certain machines like Mills and Crushers. You can also crossbreed a Jormuntide with a Fire-type Pal to get a Jormuntide Ignis.
