Palworld's Frostallion is considered as the strongest Ice-type Pal players can encounter, and taking it on will leave anyone shivering in fear. Known as the Guardian deity of Palpagos Island, Frostallion's sheer power is believed to be the reason why the land it roams is doomed to an eternal winter. Frostallion earns its reputation as the Winter Caller, as it casts tremendous ice and snow magic, freezing anything in its path.

Taking Frostallion on is no easy task, as it packs undeniable power that can leave players frozen in their tracks and watching their health deplete rapidly. Taking it down is one thing, but capturing Frostallion will require the absolute best Pal Sphere in Palworld, a lot of patience, and plenty of help from Fire-type Pals in the team.

Where to Find Frostallion

Currently, there are two ways to encounter Frostallion in Palworld. Frostallion is available as a Level 50 Alpha Boss, located to the east of the Land of Absolute Zero (exact coordinates are -357, 508). This Alpha Boss is one of the hardest that players will face, as they are not only tasked with taking down a lethal Pal, but survive the harsh cold weather too. This battle is not for the faint of heart. If taking it on is too troublesome, consider hatching one from a Huge Frozen Egg.

Staying alive in this long, drawn-out battle will be the player's true test. Not only does Frostallion hit hard with multiple attacks, it can also freeze the player in their tracks, while chipping away with additional hits. Strategizing will involve more than just bringing the strongest weapons. Here are some suggestions for giving the player the best chance of taking down Frostallion:

  • Assault Rifle - For rapid attacks. Aim for the head to get in some extra damage.
  • Rocket Launcher - Causes great damage and stuns Frostallion for a short period of time.
  • Cold Resistant Pal Metal Armor - To survive the cold by two stages, which prevents loss of health.
  • Thermal Undershirt - To provide additional coverage against the cold, gaining the ability to survive all freezing temperatures.
  • Hyper Shield - Regenerates quickly, giving the player the most coverage on defense.

Additionally, building a team of the strongest Fire-type Pals will assist with the player's attempt at defeating Frostallion. There are a few suggestions for building a complete team, which will both add extra damage against Frostallion, such as Jormuntide Ignis and Blazamut, who are the strongest Fire attackers in the game, and provide additional support while mounted. Kelpsea Ignis and Rooby boost Fire-type attacks just by being in the team.

Consider bringing Lyleen as well, for HP-replenishing purposes. Lyleen's partner skill, Harvest Goddess, heals the player for a set amount based on their player level.

What Is Frostallion Good For?

Having a Pal like Frostallion in the team is likely where most players will have them, but their assistance on the base is also something worth considering. Frostallion is the only Pal in Palworld with a Level 4 Cooling work suitability. This will ensure that food left in cold storage units will always remain fresh. It also makes traversing the desert dunes easier than with most other Ice-type Pals.

Frostallion also has a mount ability, Ice Steed, which allows players to soar in the skies at a quick pace. This partner skill also converts the player's attacks to deal Ice damage, while increasing the Ice damage dealt by the player and Frostallion while mounted.

Frostallion's Saddle becomes available at Player Level 48 and requires five Technology Points to unlock. Additionally, it will take a Pal Gear Workbench, Ice Organs (x50), Leather (x100), Paldium Fragments (x75), and Refined Ingot (x200) to build.

Frostallion in Combat

Outside the base, any time players need an Ice-type Pal on their team, Frostallion is the go-to option. Its combat skills are second to none, and its mounting ability paired with a lethal partner skill make it one of the most dangerous Pals in Palworld. Here is the list of all the naturally-learned moves Frostallion has in its arsenal:

  • Air Cannon: A power of 25 and charge time of 2 seconds, quickly fires a burst of highly pressurized air.
  • Ice Missile: A power of 30 and charge time of 3 seconds, creates ice lances in the air that fly towards enemies.
  • Icicle Cutter: A power of 55 and charge time of 10 seconds, creates a crescent blade of ice and hurls it forward.
  • Iceberg: A power of 70 and charge time of 15 seconds, summons a sharp ice lance under an enemy.
  • Crystal Wing: A power of 110 and charge time of 24 seconds, Frostallion's exclusive skill. Dashes forward while creating frigid air around its wings, using them to slash enemies.
  • Cryst Breath: A power of 90 and charge time of 22 seconds, enshrouds an enemy in a frigid blast of air, dealing continuous damage.
  • Blizzard Spike: A power of 130 and charge time of 45 seconds, creates a giant lump of ice and hurls it at any enemy. It deals damage to those in the surrounding area upon impact.

Compared to other elements, Frostallion's strongest Ice-type attacks do slightly less damage but take less time to charge. This allows Frostallion to have a couple of moves that can cause massive damage and freeze the enemy, while chipping away with quicker moves.

Ice Missile will cause 30 damage every three seconds, which can add up quickly while an enemy is recovering from a stronger attack, like Crystal Wing or Blizzard Strike. Mounting Frostallion only makes this arsenal more threatening, and should make it a mainstay in the team.
