Throughout the Palpagos Islands, you can discover over a hundred types of Pals to capture and train in Palworld. While many of these creatures freely roam the archipelago as wild or alpha Pals, there exists a select few that can only be obtained through the intricate process of breeding, particularly subspecies pals.

Although Palworld does not incorporate pal evolutions, it introduces a fascinating concept of subspecies, each with distinct elemental attributes. For instance, within the volcanic terrain of Mount Obsidian, one might encounter the fiery variant of Gobfin known as Gobfin Ignis, or in the snowy Astral Mountains, stumble upon the frosty Mammorest Cryst. While some of these sub-species can be found roaming in the wild, others are exclusive to breeding or the challenging boss encounters within dungeons.

Suzaku Aqua stands out as one of the rarest pals in Palworld. It is the Water version of Suzaku, a powerful Fire pal found in the Desecrated Deserts in the northern region of Palpagos Islands. The only guaranteed way to get Suzaku Aqua is by breeding Suzaku with Jormuntide. Follow this guide to find the whereabouts of both parent pals needed for Suzaku Aqua and how to breed them.

While Palworld actually doesn't have a ton of dual-type Pals in it, there are still some elemental combinations that are scary to go up against.

Palworld: Suzaku Aqua Breeding Guide

Palworld - Breeding Jormuntide and Suzaku

Breeding is one of the main features of Palworld, as it allows you to get almost every kind of Pal by breeding two parent Pals. Players can do intercross breeding to unlock new types of Pal. With this feature, players can use easy-to-catch early game pals to unlock strong Pals that are naturally encountered in late game areas. Unfortunately, you will need Suzaku and Jormuntide to get Suzaku, both of which are quite hard to capture.

How to Get Suzaku

Palworld - Looking At Suzaku Up Close

You can find many Suzakus roaming in the sand dunes of Desecrated Deserts, including an Alpha variant of the Pal. Once you have a flying mount, just keep heading northeast to find the Desecrated Deserts. You can find Alpha Suzaku by going northeast from the Sand Dunes Entrance travel point. Capturing the alpha variant isn’t really necessary, but players can consider it if they want better stats on Suzaku Aqua.

How to Get Jormuntide

palworld jormuntide fight

Jormuntide is among the strongest Water pals in Palworld. In the Palpagos Islands, you can find two alpha Jormuntides, first in the west of Eastern Wild Island and second inside the large lake in Bamboo Groves. Be prepared for a fierce fight as both of them are at level 45. Jormuntide doesn’t spawn as wild Pals, but there’s an easy way to breed a Jormuntide as well.

You can breed Nitewing and Grizzbolt to get Jormuntide. Both of these pals are found in the early regions. You can find Nitewing roaming in all starter islands. Once you have caught a Nitewing, craft its saddle to use it as a flying mount and head south of Plateau of Beginnings to reach Wildlife Sanctuary No. 1. This is where you can capture Grizzbolt, among other rare Sanctuary pals.

How to Breed Suzaku and Jormuntide to Capture Suzaku Aqua

Palworld - Large Damp Egg

Once you have captured both Suzaku and Jormuntide of opposite genders, place them both in a breeding farm. If you haven’t already unlocked the breeding farm, the building recipe can be unlocked at Tier level 19 in the Technology tree. After assigning them to the breeding, you will need to cook a cake and add it to the chest next to the breeding farm to start the breeding process.

Palworld - Aqua Suzaku was born

After a few minutes of interspecies breeding, Suzaku and Jormuntide give birth to a Huge Damp Egg. Place this egg into an Egg Incubator to start the egg hatching process. Egg Incubator is an Ancient Technology unlockable after reaching level 7. With the default world settings, one Huge Damp Egg takes about one hour and 20 minutes to hatch. Feel free to breed other pals or explore the Palpagos Islands to discover more rare Pals.

Suzaku Aqua Abilities and Work Stats

Palworld - Suzaku Aqua

Suzaku Aqua is a solo Water-type Pal in Palworld. It comes with a Level 3 Watering skill, making it a good pick if you are looking for a Watering Pal. Jormuntide stands as the best Watering Pal because of its Level 4 Watering skill. However, given its size, Jormuntide often gets stuck and glitched out in cramped bases. On the other hand, Suzaku Aqua is small and can easily fly from one place to another.

Suzaku Aqua’s level 3 Watering skill isn’t the only good thing about this rare Pal. Suzaku can learn many powerful water and ice attacks, such as Aqua Burst, Hydro Laser, and Blizzard Spike. If you have used an Alpha Jormuntide to get Suzaku Aqua, it might have received Jormuntide’s exclusive passive skill called Lord of the Sea, which grants a 20% damage bonus to water attacks. You can stack this buff with other offensive passive skills like Ferocious and Muscle Head to create a strong Suzaku Aqua in Palworld.
