Among the various things to do in the Palpagos Islands, the setting in which Palworld takes place, Poacher Camps are one of the most rewarding. Not only is it one of the few activities in Palworld in which you're not the villain, but it's also a fantastic way to gain some money, materials, and even a free Pal.

Palworld: 8 Of The Rarest Pals and Where to Find Them

For players who want an upper hand over their enemies in Palworld, these rare Pals should make a notable difference.

That said, once you start getting into the areas with level 25+ Pals, the Poachers start to become pretty scary as well. Anyone who has come face to face with a Syndicate Crusher can verify this fact, as those gigantic mini-gun-wielding Syndicate cronies absolutely shred through unprepared Pals and Pal Tamers. Thankfully, there is a method in which you can both save the free Pal in the Poacher Camp and also avoid death, and it's not even that difficult to pull off. Once you learn about this trick, your Palbox is going to start filling up with Pals saved from cages very quickly.

The Danger In Poacher Camps

Why It Can Be Hard To Fully Clear Them Out Pre-Level 30 Or So

Palworld - Releasing Pal From Cage In Poacher Camp

Poacher Camps when you first stumble upon them in Palworld can be pretty scary. There are a lot of Syndicate Guards in them (or one of the other villain factions) and you probably don't have much in the way of ranged weaponry at this point in the game. Outside of your Pal's actual damage, there's not much you end up feeling like you can do. Of course, once players build better Bows, Crossbows, and even Guns, these Camps get a whole lot easier.

But then, when you start exploring the higher-level areas of Palworld such as the Desert or the Volcano, you'll start coming across Poacher Camps with Elites, Hunters, and Crushers in them that can quickly take out even a well-armed Tamer. This is then where Pal Gear comes in such as the Tocotoco's Egg Bombs or Mossanda's Grenade Launcher, as these AoE weapons can keep the enemies permanently locked down. Still, for all those players who don't have the proper weaponry or who'd rather not fight at all, here's a great way to basically 'farm' Poacher Camps.

The 'Distract & Run' Method To Easily Save The Caged Pals

Basically, Give The Opponents Something Else To Focus On For A Few Seconds While You Unlock The Cage

Palworld - Poacher Camp Options

Now for the actual method of farming Poacher Camps easily. Instead of risking getting shot down and having to go all the way back out to retrieve your bag and/or Pals, this method almost always guarantees that you'll get the Caged Pal and escape mostly unharmed. There are two ways to do this:

  1. Walk up to the Poacher Camp (but stay out of aggro range) and then throw one of your Pals right on the other side of it while they're in 'Attack Aggressively' mode. They should start attacking and grab the attention of most of the people in the Poacher Camp, while they're doing this, run up and start unlocking the Pal Cage. There are times when not every enemy will be distracted but even in those instances they typically can't output enough damage to down you before the cage is open.
  2. Find any nearby Wild Pals, as close to the Poacher Camp as possible, and start a fight with them (or wait for them to walk up to the Poacher Camp on their own. Do enough damage to get their attention, but not enough to make them lose too much HP. Once they're aggroed, start pulling them towards the Poacher Camp. When they get close enough, the Poachers should start firing at them and not dealing a whole lot of damage. Use this time to go out and around to the other side of the Poacher Camp (losing any aggro along the way) before heading back in to unlock the Pal Cage while they're fighting the Wild Pals.

For both of these methods, it's best to have a flying mount as you can just hop on it after the Pal Cage is opened, fly directly upward, and avoid most if not all incoming attacks from the Poachers. However, a land mount also works pretty well, especially something like Direhowl who can get out of there before any attacks even make contact. If done properly, you'll have received a free Pal with little to no effort in the span of a few minutes at most, and you can repeat this process as much as you want to get tons and tons of free Pals.
