While players can do almost anything they want on Palpagos Islands in Palworld, they may want to avoid breaking local laws. Doing so will result in the Wanted status, and the PIDF will begin hunting you. For Palworld players who don't entirely understand this feature or the "Criminal Activity Underway" warning that accompanies it, this guide provides a detailed explanation.

Most Palworld players will see this warning at some point during their playthrough. And in some cases, the reason for its presence is not entirely obvious.

What Does the "Criminal Activity Underway" Warning Mean?

Palworld: Humans

A "Criminal Activity Underway" warning pops up in Palworld when you start doing something that violates local laws. In this way, the game warns you of the serious consequences you will face if you continue to do what you are doing. However, since the warning does not indicate which of your actions are criminal, it can be a little confusing for players, especially those who are new to Palworld and don't believe they are doing anything wrong.

To make it easier for you, here is a list of all the activities that break the law on Palpagos Islands:

  • Attacking non-hostile NPCs, such as merchants.
  • Attempting to capture humans in Pal Spheres.
  • Visiting Wildlife Sanctuaries.
  • Capturing Pals at Wildlife Sanctuaries.

When you try to do any of the above actions, a “Criminal Activity Underway” warning will appear on the screen. However, the warning itself does not carry any consequences. If you stop attacking or cease trying to catch humans, the "Criminal Activity Underway" warning will disappear after a couple of minutes. In the case of Wildlife Sanctuaries, you will have to leave the area as quickly as possible to prevent things from escalating.

How to Remove Wanted Status in Palworld

 Palworld: defeated

If you continue to engage in criminal activities, the “Criminal Activity Underway” status will change to the “Wanted” status. This is when the real problem begins since PIDF Guards will start to spawn nearby and will attack you in response to your illegal activities. Thankfully, there are several ways to get rid of this status:

  • Die - Let the PIDF do their job, and they will leave you alone.
  • Fight - When you attack PIDF Guards directly, your Wanted level will increase. However, this will not happen if your Pals do the work for you. Therefore, you can use them to get rid of your pursuers.

That's everything you need to know about the "Criminal Activity Underway" warning in Palworld. Essentially, it just warns you when you are doing something wrong and encourages you to stop.
