  • The Steam version of Palworld offers advantages like 32-player co-op and dedicated servers not on Xbox yet.
  • Developer Pocketpair remains dedicated to improving Palworld with regular updates, hinting at more features to come.

One of the recent Palworld updates has made it possible for Xbox gamers to change their Pal's names, a feature that PC users have had since the title's early access launch. When Palworld hit early access on PC and Xbox, it was clear out of the gate that the PC version, specifically the one available on Steam, had some serious advantages over its Xbox counterpart.

Palworld on PC launched with certain features that were not available on Xbox. The biggest ones are likely 32-player co-op and dedicated servers, which still have not been added to the Xbox version of Palworld at the time of this writing. Luckily, future updates should bring the Steam and Xbox versions of Palworld closer together, as evidenced by the recent update that finally gave Xbox gamers the ability to nickname their Pals.

Palworld Now Has Its Own Pokerap

A Palworld fan creates a version of the Pokemon Pokerap dedicated to the Pocketpair early access game that names each Pal that players can encounter.

For one reason or another, the Palworld on Xbox was missing the ability to nickname Pals at launch, but that feature has finally been added. As long as Xbox gamers update their Palworld game to the latest version, they will be able to hop on and tweak their Pals' names if they so desire. Doing so is simple enough. Palworld players simply need to navigate to the Party tab in the menu, select the Pal they want to rename, and then click "Edit" on the Pal's name in the top left-hand corner of the screen. From there, all that's left is renaming the Pal in question.

Palworld: How to Change Pal's Names on Xbox

  1. Go to Party
  2. Click on the Pal
  3. Click on "Edit" next to the Pal's name in the top left-hand corner of the screen
  4. Type out the Pal's new name

While many Palworld console players will no doubt be happy to see this feature make its way to the Xbox version of the game, others will be frustrated that some of the more significant PC-only features have yet to make their way to Xbox. After all, Palworld is still restricted to 4-player co-op and lacks dedicated servers on Xbox. However, the addition of this once PC-only feature should give fans hope that other PC features will soon make their way to Palworld's Xbox version.

Multiple Palworld updates were released this past week, so developer Pocketpair is still clearly very dedicated to improving the game and getting it ready for its big 1.0 release. There are plenty of big updates to look forward to in the future, so Palworld fans should stay tuned.
