A Palworld player randomly encountered a glitch that pixelated their character after they butchered a lot of Pals. Since releasing earlier in January, Palworld has been a runaway success thanks to its unique mix of genres, and players have since been busy discovering everything the game has to offer.

Palworld is both a survival sim and creature-collector game, and it has garnered both popularity and controversy due to its hype claiming that it was a more mature take on the Pokemon franchise. While players go around the game's world collecting and battling its monsters called Pals, they can also put them to work building bases, crafting items, and collecting resources, to name a few. The player can even fight the Pals themselves without the use of their own collected companions, and even butcher them for food and other materials.

Butchering Too Many Pals Can Trigger A Bug

Game streamer Alexia Raye posted a clip on her TikTok account in which her character in Palworld seemed to have been permanently pixelated. She claimed that this happened right after she had butchered 100 Pals. The bug apparently happened because the game pixelates the act of butchering due to its violent nature. The pixelation also spreads to the player character, and it looked like the glitch made it stay permanently.

Though it looks like the pixelation stays permanently, other players have noted that the issue goes away once the world is reloaded. The bug may be funny-looking, but it doesn't take long for the pixelated main character to be distracting, especially when it's time to aim at something directly in front. At the very least, this glitch is not as bad as the crashes that Palworld players on Xbox have been experiencing.

Meanwhile, the game's open-world nature and building features mean Palworld players are busy putting up various structures in their base. It seems that there are limitless possibilities when it comes to crafting and building, which has contributed greatly towards the game being a big hit. Fans have been posting a lot of creations all over the internet, inspiring others to keep designing as many imaginative structures in the game as possible.

Future updates from developer Pocket Pair will mean that there will be more to discover in the game, as well as a better play experience. Given the huge following it's quickly amassed, it already looks like Palworld may just be the next big original video game franchise to emerge, and it can be that successful as long as it can dodge its controversies.
