Apart from helping out at your Palworld base or fighting directly with their abilities, some Pals also offer different kinds of utility via Pal Gear upgrades. These crafted key items unlock special Partner Skills that give players an extra edge in combat or improve their quality of life as they explore the archipelago.

The Pals of Palworld have some obvious similarities with many of the critters from the Pokemon franchise, and Electric element Pals are no exception.

The Pal Gear Workbench is an essential part of any base, thanks to the upgrades it provides. If you want to have a smoother time in Palworld, you'll want to craft the following Pal Gear as soon as possible.

Best Pal Gear To Craft First

Pal Gear is crafted just like any other item in the game. Collect raw crafting materials, bring them back to your base, and have a Pal make the gear for you on a Pal Gear Workbench while you do other things. Thankfully, you only need to craft a piece of Pal Gear once. After that, you'll be able to use it on all Pals any number of times. Pal Gear blueprints must first be discovered by capturing a specific Pal, then unlocked at the tech tree by spending Tech Points.

Rushoar Saddle

The Rushoar Saddle is arguably the best quality-of-life upgrade you can get when it comes to mining. As the name implies, this Pal Gear upgrade lets you ride on a Rushoar, which you can then use to smash rock deposits and ore veins extremely quickly. As long as you have a Rushoar in your party, you'll never have to use a pickaxe again, saving you the hassle and cost of having to repair your tools.

Mount Saddles

Speaking of saddles, you'll want to craft one for your mount of choice. Mounted traversal speeds do differ from Pal to Pal, and you won't be able to ride them until you research and build their respective saddles. Some of the best mounts to use in the game are:

  • Land: Eikthyrdeer, Univolt, Pyrin
  • Water: Surfent, Jormuntide
  • Flying: Beakon, Jetragon

Mossanda's Grenade Launcher

Mossanda's grenade launcher attack in Palworld

While you can craft your own guns and ammo, there are some Pals who can either be used as weapons or come with guns of their own. When it comes to base defense, you'll want to have a Mossanda at the ready so you can use their grenade launcher in combat. Most invader waves arrive in tightly-clustered groups, and there's no better way to deal with those than with explosives. Alternatively, you can use Tocotoco's Gloves if you don't have a Mossanda yet or get a Grizzbolt if you want a minigun instead of grenades.

Daedream's Necklace

A squad of Daedreams in Palworld

If you want to have more than one Pal out at a time, then you'll want to make Daedream's Necklace as soon as possible. Daedreams are one of the best early-game Pals thanks to this upgrade, which allows all Daedreams in your party to hover around you while having a different Pal out as your main companion. The Daedreams will attack whatever you're attacking, significantly bumping up your DPS. Later on, you can unlock Dazzi's Necklace, which does the same thing for Dazzis.
