Highlights

  • Catching Pals early on in Palworld is essential for quick experience and unlocking new technology and structures.
  • Grass-type Pals have unique abilities that can bring down Water-type Pals and create opportunities to catch other Pals.
  • Different Grass-type Pals have different moves, such as Wind Cutter, Botanical Smash, and Focus Shot, each with their own powers and charge times.

During Palworld's early game, catching anything and everything in sight is essential for building up experience quickly. This allows players to unlock all sorts of new technology and structures, making life at the base and in the wild an easier time. After the Cattivas, Chikipis, and Lamballs have been accounted for, the game opens up a world full of different elements and powers.

Grass-type Pals aren't as powerful as their main nemesis, Fire Pals, but they store unique abilities that will bring Water-type Pals to their knees. They also create openings to catch Pals, thanks to their binding abilities. Grass Pals can be found early on in Palworld, and aren't too hard to capture. They can be used for their Planting work suitability, or taken out into the world and used for some remarkable active skills like those below.

6 Wind Cutter

A High-Speed Blade Of Wind

Broncherry from Palworld
  • Power: 30
  • Cast Time: 2 Seconds

The most basic of Grass moves, Wind Cutter comes with a two-second charge time and hits for a power of 30. This move sends a blade of wind directly into an opponent Pal, causing minimal damage but allowing the user to hit multiple times in succession. Wind Cutter is a good starter Grass move for dealing with pesky Water Pals.

For users running into Grass-type Pals early on, this move will likely be seen more often than not. However, not all Grass Pals learn this move naturally. While a Skill Fruit is available to teach the move to any Pal — Grass type or other — the following Grass Pals will learn Wind Cutter on their own:

  • Lifmunk
  • Tanzee
  • Gumoss / Special Flower Gumoss
  • Floppie
  • Bristla
  • Caprity
  • Cinnamoth
  • Robinquill
  • Robinquill Terra
  • Beegarde
  • Elizabee
  • Dinossom
  • Verdash
  • Vaelet
  • Broncherry
  • Petallia
  • Wumpo Botan
  • Warsect
  • Lyleen

Additionally, a few Pals of other types can learn this move naturally, including the Ground type Hangyu, Neutral type Nitewing, and the Fire type Bushi.

5 Botanical Smash

Smashes The Ground With Its Tail to Damage Enemies in a Wide Area

Dinossom
  • Power: 60
  • Cast Time: 8 Seconds

Botanical Smash is an exclusive move for Dinossom and Dinossom Lux, utilizing its large tail to spin around and knock the opponent Pal back a few feet. Botanical Smash is one of the first powerful Grass-type moves players will encounter, thanks to Dinossom's early-game availability.

Paired with its ability to bind an opponent, Dinossom's Botanical Smash can be a tough move to deal with, especially when players aren't leveled appropriately. For a move with a 60-based power, the eight-second charge time makes Botanical Smash a great move to have in Dinossom's arsenal.

4 Focus Shot

The User Takes Aim, Then Releases A Powerful Arrow

Robinquill in Palworld
Robinquill in Palworld
  • Power: 65
  • Cast Time: 9 Seconds

The exclusive move of Robinquill and Robinquill Terra, Focus Shot has this Grass-type Pal pulling out a bow and focusing a shot aimed at anything in its way. Robinquill and Robinquill Terra are hostile when encountered in the wild, and will attack if a Pal or player breaches its territory.

Focus Shot allows this Pal to attack from a distance, and its 65-based power is sure to leave a mark. It comes with a nine-second charge time, allowing it to set up a pre-emptive strike before rushing in to do some extra damage. For players who are experienced with the bow and arrow weapon, Robinquill and Robinquill Terra make for a dynamic team.

3 Spinning Lance

Channel Power Into a Staff, and Unleash It

Palworld_Elizabee and Beegarde
  • Power: 70
  • Cast Time: 9 Seconds

Elizabee's exclusive move, Spinning Lance, sees this Pal collecting energy into its staff before swiping at the enemy and creating a whirlwind. It's a step up from Robinquill's Focus Shot, providing an additional 5 attack power for the same amount of time it takes to charge.

Players encountering Elizabee in the wild will be in for a tough battle, as they are typically surrounded by a few Beegardes. These Pals are known to explode on impact in order to protect their queen. Paired with Elizabee's Spinning Lance, this can make a tough challenge, so players should have a plan before engaging them in battle.

2 Crushing Punch

User Winds Up Its Fist Before Punching An Enemy

Palworld - Mossanda In Paldeck Video
  • Power: 85
  • Cast Time: 18 Seconds

Mossanda is a tanky Grass-type Pal that can be found at the end of Mountain Stream Grotto dungeons, as well as in Large Verdant Eggs. They are a useful Pal to have on any team thanks to their exclusive move, Crushing Punch. This physical attack sees Mossanda winding up its fist before unleashing a thunderous blow that causes massive damage.

It's one of the strongest Grass-type moves in Palworld, and its only drawback is an 18-second charge time. Paired with a quicker move, Mossanda can be a threat on the field with Crushing Punch as an ultimate finishing move.

1 Solar Blast

Charges Up Solar Energy to Blast Enemies

PALWORLD-ROBINQUILL-TERRA
  • Power: 150
  • Cast Time: 55 Seconds

While Robinquill Terra shares an exclusive move with Robinquill, it also possesses its own unique one — Solar Blast. This move is the strongest of its Element, and takes 55 seconds to charge and use again. Robinquill Terra can be found in the desert areas of Palworld, and the surrounding area is open to sunlight at all times in the day. This allows Robinquill Terra to charge up its move before unleashing a powerful blast full of solar energy.

Robinquill Terra roam the sandy dunes in groups of three or more, and can be found during the day and night. They'll be armed with Focus Shot and Solar Blast, so it is best to keep a distance away from them.
