Image of the northern region of Bahari Bay in Palia

If you are looking to find the Leafstalker Mantis, there is only one location where it can be found: the forests of Bahari Bay. Basically, the forests in Bahari Bay are most of the northern region of the map, including:

  • Flooded Steps
  • The Outskirts
  • Proudhorn Pass
  • Thorny Thicket
  • Statue Garden

In these regions, you will usually just find the Leafstalker Mantis walking around on the ground, but if they spot you, they will run away. There are no specific regions within the forests where the Leafstalker Mantis can be found, so we have a few methods you can use to lure them to you, so you can complete some bundles and quests.

How to Catch Leafstalker Mantis in Palia

There are a few ways that Leafstalker Mantises can appear before you. This includes:

  • Found while picking up Sweet Leaves or Dari Cloves in Bahari Bay
  • Found on the ground in Bahari Bay, usually near Sweet Leaves or Dari Cloves

The chance of getting one when foraging for Sweet Leaves or Dari Cloves is only 10 percent, making it quite a rare spawn. If you want to use this method, however, you can find Sweet Leaves and Dari Cloves in northern Bahari Bay, usually from the Flooded Steps to Thorny Thickets, as well as Statue Garden. They will look like the second image above.

If you want to catch them in the wild, it is a good idea to attempt to lure them to you, or track them down. Buzzy Jars are a great way to have the Leafstalker Mantis marked on your map, so you can quickly find one in the wild. Otherwise, you can use a Honey Lure to attract them to the area. You can get the Honey Lure recipe for 2000 Gold from Auni at the Bug Catching Guild. You must at least be at level 7 to purchase it. You can then place the Honey Lure anywhere in northern Bahari Bay that we mentioned before, and wait for the Leafstalker Mantis to arrive.

If you see one on the ground, make sure to be prepared with your Smoke Bombs, so you can sneak up on it without it being able to detect you. Usually, it will hop away after first noticing you, but it will still be nearby, so you can use another Smoke Bomb if you need to. You will then have a Leafstalker Mantis in your inventory, which you can either use to make a profit, or use to complete quests and bundles
